To the best dad a girl could ask for — thank you for everything. For always showing up, for always having my back, for being my biggest supporter, for always making me your valentine, for your sense of humor, the lessons, and the love. For introducing me to tennis, to good food, and to the beauty of seeing the world. For being my hero — and for embarrassing me by showing up to my matches in the fire truck.

You’ve always been my favorite person. I’ve always wanted to be like you. Remember when I was five, I tried shaving after watching you. I still have the scar to prove it. You’re my hero, and the kind of caring, “do-for-others” person I strive to be every day.

Thank you for building a firm foundation to stand on — for teaching me independence, the value of hard work, and everything from how to ride a bike, to cook, to drive, to love, and to laugh. For visiting me in every city I decided to move to, no matter how far. Thank you for NEVER learning how to do my hair right…it wasn’t funny then, but I guess it is now.

This journey hasn’t been easy, but even through the hardest parts, I thank God for peace and for the love from a father that will never fade. Forever grateful for your strength, your heart, and every memory we share that shaped me into who I am. I hope to make you proud.

I’m going to miss you so so sooo much, dad. I never knew loving someone could hurt this bad but I consider myself the luckiest kid in the world to have had you as my best friend.

Trained myself into 2nd place at my first bodybuilding competition.
