Another 2026 faculty reveal.✨

Meet Drew Burgess. @drewdances

Mr. Drew is back for another year at Accelerate. An Ohio native who made his industry debut on Live with Regis during Amazing Kids Week, Drew trained at LA’s top studios including EDGE, Millennium, Fusion, and the PAC Annex, and went on to become a former Jr. Mr. Dance of America and Mr. Dance of America.

He’s performed with the Radio City Rockettes, Taylor Swift, and The Baha Men, toured worldwide with Rasta Thomas’ Bad Boys of Dance, and is Acrobatic Arts Certified (Module One to Three), serving on their Faculty of Course Conductors and Examiners.

Drew also sits on teaching and adjudication panels for organizations including the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters, Dance Teachers Club of Boston, and the Rhee Gold Company.

So glad to have Mr. Drew back on the floor in 2026. 🤩 by @drewdances

Stop skipping handstand walking. 🖐️

That’s the case @drewdances makes in this week’s episode, and once you hear his reasoning, you won’t look at it as a “someday” skill again.

Drew calls handstand walking his favorite acro skill, and not because it looks impressive. Because it tells him everything about a dancer’s strength, alignment, and control the second he sees them attempt it.

Here’s what studio owners and teachers walk away with:

→ Why he starts handstand walking on day one, not after a dancer already has a solid handstand (a plank or a downward dog is enough to begin)

→ His go-to progressions: wall walks, wheelbarrows, the hand-squeeze cue that gets dancers to actually engage their adductors and stack their hips

→ How he builds it into class culture with record-keeping and studio-wide challenges, so it’s not just your one strong kid who gets good at it

→ Why he treats it like ballet walks across the floor: a fundamental, not a bonus

“There’s beauty in the growth. Every flower blooms at a different time, but you actually have to start planting the seed to grow the garden, or it’s never going to happen.”

If your acro classes have been saving handstand walking for the “advanced” kids, this episode will change how you sequence every level.

🎧 Our newest episode just dropped, fresh off the mic. Listen now, link in bio.

It’s been one full {devastating, surreal, impossibly long yet somehow fleeting} year without our most favorite, irreplaceable, extraordinary human, @stefaniekauffman , on this side of Heaven.🕊️

I wish I could adequately express the overwhelming, complicated, raw, beautiful, messy feelings and emotions into eloquent and healing words of wisdom for those who are grieving the unbearable passing of beloved relatives, cherished friends, and precious pets—especially around bittersweet, memory-laden holidays. We are learning to grow around our relentless, aching, suffocating sorrow, but it’s always much easier said than done.💔

Our family remains utterly bereft, grief-stricken, completely heartbroken, and forever changed. To all those lucky, blessed, fortunate enough to have known and experienced our Stefie Jo’s kind, gentle, generous, luminous heart, alongside her mischievous, ornery, delightfully silly, wickedly sharp sense of humor, effortless wit, magnetic charm, and infectious joy: YOU’RE WELCOME.😉

Stefanie made everyone’s lives immeasurably better, infinitely cooler, vibrant, colorful, hilarious, adventurous, and ridiculously FUN during every precious moment she graced us with her radiant, unforgettable Earthly presence.🌍

My eldest sister, ‘Shoshy’, was (& still remains) the GREATEST, most magnificent, most treasured gift of family & friendship I have had the privilege & honor of knowing, loving, learning from, laughing with, & existing alongside.🥹

Please hug your loved ones extra tight each & every day. 🫂

I miss you endlessly, Sis. We all do.❤️‍🩹 by @drewdances
