Three weeks ago, I got the call to come home to Mom. Nothing could have prepared me for what those weeks would hold: being by her side, praying, and letting her know her baby boy was right there. It was one of the hardest experiences of my life, but I’m beyond grateful for the time spent with her, my dad, brothers, sisters, family, friends and everyone who came together. 💜
My mom was so much more than my mother. She was one of my best friends who knew my heart like few ever will. From dancing in the kitchen, to introducing me to the greatest music, to teaching me how to truly party and LIVE, so much of who I am comes from her. She was the life of the party. A force of nature. One of one. She was an incredible mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who gave so much love, laughter, and life to everyone around her.
My heart hurts in ways I can’t put into words. I miss calling her, hearing her voice, and dancing with her. But even in the pain, I feel her. I’ve been catching every sign she sends, and I know she’s right over my shoulder, watching me. Our bond is too strong to ever be broken.
If there’s one thing I’m taking from this, it’s to LIVE. Smile. Love hard. Dance. Play the music louder. Hug your people a little longer. Like she would always say to me “I need a big hug cause it’s gotta last me a while” None of us are promised tomorrow.
Mom, thank you for the music, the dancing, the laughter, and for showing me how to live life to the fullest. I’ll carry you with me in everything I do, and when the music plays, I’ll dance a little harder knowing you’re right there with me 🪽
I may have lost you here on Earth, but I gained the most beautiful angel to watch over me. And I promise I will never take that for granted.
