#Salute To All!!
There is a story behind my journey.
First and foremost. It is Real. Be very weary of the people out there who are REAL pretenders trying to convince you they are something they are not. Here are some humble wise words from the one and only. @treachtribe #NaughtByNature Music is my life, I don't just Rap. I am music. I live hip-hop as much as life permits. I do me. You don't like that? Sorry not sorry. I come from the days of REAL ONES. I should have been chopping it up with @prodigymobbdeep this day aswell at the art of rap fest but instead destiny brought me to some great ones and I also got to chop it up with @mobbdeephavoc and let him know just how much himself and @prodigymobbdeep had been such an inspiration to the way I learned to express. SALUTE!!!

2 DAYS TO GO!!! Can you feel it building?

Our journey through Black music today continues...
As soul evolved, its rhythms inspired not only new sounds but new ways to move! The grooves of soul, funk and disco helped shape modern dance culture, where creativity, community and self-expression started to take centre stage.

Representing that legacy on the Block Party stage this FRIDAY 18 (doors 5pm) are @studio17_dancecrew , led by Naomi McCullough @naomimcc707

One of Belfast’s leading hip hop and contemporary dance schools, Studio 17 has spent over a decade developing young talent, taking dancers to compete on the world stage and earning World Championship titles along the way! We’re proud to welcome them as Soultrane’s NEW official dance partners and can’t wait to see them light up the stage for you! They have worked HARD!

Alongside our Hip Hop inspired dance-offs, the stage wouldn’t be complete without a OG Hip-hop talent gracing our stage also.
Representing the vitality of hip hop this FRIDAY will be Drew Edghill, @drewedghill , an international artist whose music blends conscious lyricism, personal storytelling and contemporary beats. Inspired by artists such as J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar, Drew’s music reflects the heart and spirit of modern hip hop.

A little Hip-hop fact for you today:

Born in the Bronx in the 1970s, hip hop emerged as a powerful voice identity and social expression, growing into one of the world’s most influential cultural movements there is! By coming down, you keep this crucial artistic legacy alive.

It’s nice to put up nice pictures. But sometimes you have to remind yourself WHY you’re doing these events, showcasing THESE people and voluntarily keeping Soultrane Festival alive.
Because it isn’t just about ‘nice’ music.
The origins of Black music didn’t come out of ‘nice’. It came from faith, purpose, pride, struggle and resilience. Its beauty and talent were born out of human and community spirit.
As you scroll through our pictures, you’ll see a story unfold. A journey and history of soul that goes beyond the events and even the artists themselves.
At Soultrane, we have to keep our eyes on the bigger picture. The future. We’re here to represent this journey and honour its place in our music scene as something vital and worthy.
So, for the next 6 DAYS, as we count down to our CULTURE NIGHT BLOCK PARTY (FREE EVENT) on 18th September, we’re going back to our roots, community!

Each day this week, we’ll shine a light on a different part of the culture, starting with the roots of soul, GOSPEL, and moving through jazz, blues, hip hop, art and the wider flavours this incredible culture brings.
And speaking of flavour no festival is complete without good food. This year our Block Party will have delicious Caribbean food from TASTE DI SLAND available to buy throughout the event! Plus a live Art wall hosted by our celebrated artist this year Promise O’Nali. This is juicy!! This is soul in action!!

SO, HERE ARE 3 REASONS TO COME AND SUPPORT SOULTRANE:
1. Be part of history. Soultrane is the first soul-centred organisation here building an authentically rooted infrastructure for soul, its artists and its community.
2. Discover and explore the whole journey Celebrate soul with us, and its purpose in Northern Ireland today.
3. Find your soul community. Join our growing network of diverse wonderful people. Make new friends and discover & embrace the cultures stories and people behind the music we love.

And there’s a whole lot more in store.

6 DAYS TO GO!! Get ready !!
