It wouldn’t be Semester 2 at Drew’s without the Jacarandas in bloom. Their beautiful purple flowers bring a splash of colour to College life, brightening our campus and surrounding streets as students make the most of the final weeks of the academic year. by @drewscollege

Last month, St Andrew’s students and alumni represented @sydney_uni in both the Men’s and Women’s Eights, in the @australian_boatrace, competing against the @unimelb in this celebrated university rowing rivalry. The residential college races also saw our St Andrew’s Women’s Eight take on @trinityunimelb, while Trinity competed against St John’s College in the Men’s Eight. Representing St Andrew’s, our Women’s Eight consisted of: 🔹 Lucy Scammell (Fr 2025) 🔹 Lucy Smith (Fr 2025) 🔹 Aisha Yates (Fr 2026) 🔹 Nicole Vance (Fr 2024) 🔹 Mathilde Goddard (Fr 2026) 🔹 Annabel Shanahan (Fr 2026) 🔹 Alice Macready (Fr 2025) 🔹 Daisy Thomas (Fr 2026) 🔹 Alex Wright (Fr 2025) Special congratulations to Nicole Vance, Alice Macready, and Tiffany Botha (Fr 2022) for competing in the USYD Boat Race Crew, alongside Sophia Tayeb (Fr 2026), who served as Coxswain for the USYD Men’s Crew. Beyond the competition, we were delighted to welcome our friends from Trinity College to dinner at St Andrew’s. It was wonderful to see the Sydney–Melbourne collegiate rivalry put aside for an evening of friendship, camaraderie and healthy competition. Congratulations to everyone involved and thank you to Trinity for being part of such a wonderful occasion. Photos: Australian Boat Race by @drewscollege

The Last Outlaws | Annual Law Lecture How can a criminal case reveal the tensions that shaped a nation? At this year’s Annual Law Lecture, Distinguished Professor Katherine Biber from UTS explored the story of Wiradjuri brothers Jimmy and Joe Governor, whose trial and execution in 1900 coincided with the birth of the Australian nation. Drawing on her acclaimed podcast and award-winning book, 'The Last Outlaws', Professor Biber examined the intersections of law, history, race, and justice, giving students a chance to engage with perspectives beyond the lecture theatre. Thank you to Professor Biber for sharing her insights with the College, and to our Co-Heads of Law, Jason Chin and Rachel Killean, for making this valuable learning opportunity possible. by @drewscollege
DramSoc | A Flea in Her Ear Mistaken identities, elaborate misunderstandings and plenty of chaos! DramSoc brought Georges Feydeau’s classic French farce A Flea in Her Ear to life in a fantastic student-led production. Directed by Hazel Jackman (Fr 2025) and produced by Finn Fredericks (Fr 2025), the production showcased the creativity and collaboration of more than 20 cast members and a talented crew working behind the scenes. On Saturday 10 October, DramSoc also welcomed more than 90 grandparents and students to the annual Grandparents Matinee and High Tea, celebrating the cast and crew’s hard work. Congratulations to Hazel, Finn and the entire DramSoc team, and thank you to everyone who supported the production! by @drewscollege
