I didn’t make too huge a deal of my 40th birthday because it’s been a bummer few years, but I’m very grateful my family and friends did. Halfway to my next birthday I thought it was a good time to commemorate the good stuff: food, tequila, my first surprise party, unicorn and rainbow balloons, superhero portraiture, dancing, costumes, custom tee shirts, cookie cakes, and some of the planet’s best people.

❤️🌈🦄

Having been in and out of the closet twice, I understand the late night craving for hot meat between fresh buns. That’s why I’ve partnered with In-N-Out to bring you this limited edition Black and White #pride shake…

Doing the #SamePhraseDifferentTone trend with my parents. When you think about it, that’s kind of a metaphor for being related, right? Swipe for options. taken in Ventura, California by @drewstaten

played 13 board/card games, in bed before midnight, attempted to learn a new dance and ate all but 3 meals at our place = new normal bestie trips in our 40s and wouldn’t have it any other way. Mems for a lifetime. ❤️🌈🌴 #trip #vacation #bestie #margarita by @drewstaten

Happy (belated) Birthday, Jay Marcus!!! You are so passionate about art and it pays off. Congratulations on your two Tony nominations (“Oh, Mary!” and “Sunset Boulevard”) and also for having the best wall paper in West Hollywood! (But really thank you for being game for brunch and board games and being born.) 🧇 taken in Los Angeles, California by @drewstaten
