Too many years ago to count, we began our love for the Heat. We celebrated championships, lived every game, argued every call, and no matter where your music took you around the world, there wasn’t a Heat game we didn’t talk about. I remember us connecting games so you could watch on tour busses and you repping Heat hats literally around the entire world.

Today, Heat Nation has something incredible to celebrate on your birthday and that joy has landed with #7 to my #13. We are together in so many ways always!

5 years Drew… it still seems incomprehensible but not a day goes by that we don’t feel you.

Yes, a legendary reggae producer, musician, and composer—but more than anything, you were the brother who showed up, no matter the distance. The one who loved my kids as if they were your own. My best friend. Our family’s constant rhythm.

Your music still plays, carrying your vibration out into the world, but your greatest legacy is the love you gave so freely—the way you lifted people, the way you made people feel steady, the way you showed us what it means to lead with heart.

I hope you know how deeply you are missed, and how completely you will always be loved. Your spirit moves through us like a familiar song—steady, warm, and everlasting.

“This one is really difficult, I’ve been blessed to work with so many great artists from all over the world, but my favorite would be the “Nurtured Frequency” album I produced alongside Vaughn Benjamin from Akae Beka/Midnite (Rest in Zion).
The energy with Vaughn was just crazy in recording sessions and the time we spent together discussing life ended up being the basis for all the songs on the album. Vaughn would just sit down with a pen and paper, I’d put on a riddim he had never heard before and within a few minutes he would be ready to record. Quite amazing to witness that level of mastery and devotion to His Imperial Majesty, so I give thanks for that as well. What a huge blessing to be your sister, to grow up with you, to become best friends as adults, to see you be the greatest uncle and love my kids like they are your own. Today we celebrate all of you; the kind, loving, always there for you brother/uncle. 4 years and there isn’t one day where we know how to live without you and there never will be. It’s all the little moments and the big ones too. Being your sister has and will always be the utter privilege of my life. Talent beyond earthly understanding and your heart way, way beyond that. I hope you see and feel the collective love people share, talking about you, listening to your music, reminiscing about all the moments you shared with them. You made people feel safe, you showed them what true generosity looks like, you gave everything of yourself to the music, to the community, to anyone you came in contact with. 4 years later.. people share with me all the time about your kindness, about specific moments that changed their lives because of you.

The purest form of love is you Drew and that is based on your deeds while on this earth. It is my hope that you continue to feel the highest vibrations as your name is said across the earth on a daily, the immense love from your army of brotherhood and most of all you know that in your girls lies all of you. Each with a Drewness that is unmistakable. We are blessed for the time we did have. We are blessed the girls had a chance to really know and love you.
