TRADITION NEVER GRADUATES. IT ELEVATES. ☄️

Last week, our freshmen had the privilege of hearing from Mr. Tim Ligue, De La Salle Class of ’97.

A former standout for the Meteors, Mr. Ligue went on to Princeton University, where he lettered in football all four years.

But the most powerful part of his story went far beyond football.

Mr. Ligue shared his experience of being inside the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, and successfully evacuating after the attacks began. He spoke about how that day changed his perspective on life, purpose, and what it truly means to make an impact.

That journey eventually helped lead him to his calling in education. Today, he is a co-founder and leader of Intrinsic Schools, continuing to pour into young people across Chicago.

And last week, he came back to where part of his own journey began, De La Salle to pour into the next generation of Meteors.

That is what tradition looks like.

Not just remembering where you came from…

But coming back to help someone else go farther.

Mr. Ligue, thank you for speaking life, wisdom, perspective, and encouragement into our young men. This is a conversation they will never forget.

Once a Meteor, Always a Meteor. ☄️
