Pasien bibir dan lelangit sumbing di Kabupaten Tegal cukup banyak walopun data yang pasti tidak saya miliki.

Setelah bertahun tahun fokus kasus trauma maksilofasial, saya akhirnya memulai kembali untuk melayani pasien yang menderita kecacatan bawaan pada kraniomaksilofasial.

Permasalahan pada penderita celah bibir dan langit langit sudah muncul sejak lahir, sehingga mengalami derita psikis setelah menyadari dirinya berbeda dengan yang lain.

Selain itu adanya celah membuat penderia mengalami kesulitan minum karena daya hisab yang kurang dan banyak tumpah atau bocor ke hidung. Penderita juga menghadapi permasalahan estetik/kosmetik, gangguan perkembangan gigi dan pertumbuhan rahang serta bicara berupa suara sengau.

Penanganan CLEFT LIPS AND PALATE/ celah bibir dan langit-lamgit memerlukan keterlibatan berbagai disiplin ilmu yang dimulai dari hari pertama dilahirkan hingga 20 sd 21 tahun.

Untuk penanganan optimal selain dipeelukan pengetahuan juga dipeelukan ketrampilan teknis dalam memahami suatu anatomi abnormal dengan tidak menghilangkan nilai estetika di dalamnya.
Perawatan CLP juga membutuhkan pengawasan dan evaluasi
