**comment “eye” to get a list of my favorite korean eye creams***

When picking eye creams, it’s important to know what problem we are trying to solve.
✨Darkness, hyperpigmentation: if there is actual pigment issue, look for eye creams with vitamin C, niacinamide, etc. You can also try retinol ones as long as they are not irritating. Avoid rubbing around the eyes since constant friction can cause hyperpigmentation.
✨Bluish/vascular, thin skin: If darkness is due underlying vessel and thin eyelid skin, look for eye creams with caffeine! If there is a metal tip, you can put it in the fridge to make it cold and use.
✨Wrinkles/fine lines: look for retinol, peptides, collagen. It is ok to use rye creams with retinol or retinal, but start off few time a week and gradually increase to avoid irritation.

❌Washing your hair on a daily basis makes your hair fall out more: FALSE. Washing hair frequently does not cause more hair to fall out. In fact, not washing your hair can lead to buildup of product debris, oil, sweat, etc which can clog hair follicles and cause more problems with scalp & hair health. Washing your hair with the right shampoo will not lead to more hair loss. The frequency of washing can also vary depending on scalp type & hair type (i.e. for some, more frequent and for others, less frequent).

✅Losing ~100 hairs per day is normal

✅If you have dandruff, it can also lead to hair loss: You want to massage dandruff shampoo into the scalp and leave it on for 3 min before washing off. I recommend conditioner after so that your hair doesn’t feel dry. Typically recommend dandruff shampoo 1-2 times per week for maintenance.

✅If you have oily scalp or you sweat everyday: it is OK to wash every day. You can also use exfoliating shampoo or scrub few times a month.

✅If you have dry, damaged or overly-processed hair OR coarser hair, avoid shampoos with sulfates. Can wash 2-3x per week

✅Find out the type of hair loss you’re having. Minoxidil 5% is still our favorite OTC option for female or male pattern hair loss.

My needle-free Mirajet experience 👀
Immediately after → A few days later

During my recent trip to Korea 🇰🇷, I tried the RE2O skin booster without traditional needles using the Mirajet device.
I wanted to show what the treatment and downtime actually looked like because needle-free does not mean painless or completely without downtime.

After the treatment, I had redness, swelling, sensitivity, and pinpoint scabbing. For me, these changes lasted around 1–3 days. So if you’ve been wondering what your skin might look like immediately after Mirajet and in the days following… here you go 👀 I think I’m going to go with needles next time!

As for the RE2O skin booster itself, it’s still too early for me to say whether it made a noticeable difference in my skin. Around day 7, my skin did look a little more glowy and dewy, but based on the limited clinical data available, more meaningful changes may take several weeks. This is NOT an endorsement or encouragement to get the RE2O skin booster. I’m simply sharing my personal experience and showing what the treatment looked like on my skin.

I’ll be breaking down RE2O from a dermatologist’s POV in an upcoming video: what it is, what the research actually shows, and whether I think it’s worth the hype 👀#mirajet

Have this? Use that. 👇🏻 A dermatologist’s guide to matching skincare ingredients to your skin concern:

Dry skin → Ceramides
Ceramides are naturally found in your skin barrier and help replenish the lipids your skin needs to retain moisture and stay protected. If your skin feels tight, flaky, or easily irritated, look for a moisturizer with ceramides.
→ AESTURA Atobarrier365 Cream

Oily skin → Niacinamide
Niacinamide (vitamin B3) can help regulate sebum production, support the skin barrier, and improve the appearance of enlarged pores and uneven skin tone.
→ The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

Redness → Azelaic acid
Azelaic acid is one of my favorite multitasking ingredients for redness-prone skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties and can also help with acne and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
→ ANUA Azelaic Acid Serum

Acne → Retinoid
If you’re acne-prone, a topical retinoid is one of the most evidence-based ingredients to consider. Retinoids help prevent clogged pores and can treat both comedonal and inflammatory acne.
→ Adapalene (Differin Gel) or adapalene + benzoyl peroxide (Epiduo)

Individual results vary. Acne treatments, especially retinoids, may not be appropriate during pregnancy. Ask your dermatologist which ingredients are right for your skin.

3 Drugstore Skincare Hacks That Are Derm-Approved 👩🏻‍⚕️
You really don’t need an expensive body-care routine to address some of the most common skin concerns I see in my dermatology clinic. Here are 3 simple combinations I recommend:

-Crepey skin? Try a retinol body lotion.
I like a body lotion with retinol, such as Gold Bond Retinol Overnight Body & Face Lotion, for areas where the skin is starting to look crepey or have uneven texture. Retinol can help improve skin texture and support collagen over time, while the moisturizer helps keep the skin hydrated.
Start a few nights a week and gradually increase as your skin tolerates it. And just like with facial retinoids, don’t expect overnight results—consistency is key.
-Dry, cracked heels? Try urea + Vaseline.
This is one of my favorite simple combinations for stubbornly dry feet. Urea helps hydrate and soften thick, rough skin, while Vaseline acts as an occlusive to lock that moisture in. Apply the urea cream first, then a thin layer of Vaseline over it at night. If your heels are really cracked, put on socks afterward and let it work overnight.
-Body odor? Try a benzoyl peroxide wash.
Body odor isn’t necessarily a hygiene problem. The odor comes from bacteria breaking down sweat and oils on the skin, so reducing those odor-causing bacteria can help. A benzoyl peroxide wash can be a simple option. Let it sit on the skin for about 1–2 minutes before rinsing, and start a few times a week. Just know that benzoyl peroxide can be drying and can bleach dark towels/clothing.

One of the questions we get asked all the time is: “Which noninvasive skin tightening treatment is best?”

The truth is, I (Dr. Ugonabo) have and regularly use all four of these technologies in my practice: Ulthera, Sofwave, Thermage and XERF. And that’s because they each have different ways of delivering energy and different situations where I may choose one over another.

✨ Ulthera / Ultherapy
Uses focused ultrasound energy to target deeper layers of the skin and stimulate collagen remodeling. I particularly like it when I’m looking for deeper tissue tightening and lifting, including areas like the lower face, jawline and neck.

✨ Sofwave
Also uses ultrasound, but the energy is delivered differently and targets the mid-dermal layer. It’s a great option for improving skin laxity and stimulating collagen, with relatively little downtime. I also like it for brow lift as well.

✨ Thermage
Uses radiofrequency energy to heat the deeper layers of the skin and stimulate collagen. It has been around for years and can be used on the face, neck and body. It’s also commonly used around the eyes, where laxity can be a concern.

✨ XERF
Uses a newer form of radiofrequency technology designed to deliver energy at different depths. I like it when I’m looking for collagen stimulation and skin tightening, and the treatment can be customized based on the area being treated and the degree of laxity.

So which one is right for you?

There isn’t one treatment that is best for everyone. Your skin quality, degree and location of laxity, treatment goals and tolerance for discomfort all play a role in deciding which technology makes the most sense.

‼️And one important reminder: noninvasive skin tightening can improve laxity, but it cannot replicate the results of surgery.

The goal isn’t to find the “best” device. It’s to find the right treatment for your skin and your goals. ✨
