Today we celebrate @julian240sx on his day. Have a wonderful birthday Julian! Early Beginnings: Julian began drifting and attending DC as a teen; showing great promise in his KA24DE S14. Contributions to Drift Tour MX: In 2019 Julian and his family’s brand “Calderon Tire” helped bring DC representation to three drift events and one SEMA style show in four different cities in Mexico. This was done across a span of 27 days. He is pictured here with his arm out the window of the @carloscanoestrella AE86 in Zapopan, Jalisco. Comp Experience: Julian is one of the DC Staff members with the most competition experience. Having earned some tough wins in tandems and even some early hardware in campaigns across the west coast. The Tire Plug: Always willing to help and support your tire and alignment needs; Julian is known for helping anyone from the random dude off the street to the organizers of Gridlife. Course Designer and Steward: Julian has thrived in his recent role as course designer at DC; he was the one behind the return course idea which we implemented after returning on the dirt was no longer an option. Joining the Instructor Ranks: He has made a seamless transition into instructing and helping new drivers achieve growth while having fun. Tandem King Julian: Originally the nickname “King Julian” came as a joke from @ogied_uzivra many years ago but through his hard work Julian is now arguably the top young tandem driver at DC and perhaps in Salinas…this of course will need to be tested through competition hahaha taken in Salinas, California by @driftcentral_official

Tandem Advice: If you are new to tandems, remember to run a few warm-up laps with your buddies before going in on a full commitment lap. 📷 @gorillatornado Tandem Advice: Communicate at the line and speak with someone before lining up next to them, be clear about order and gap etc. and avoid tandems with randoms. 📷 @gorillatornado Tandem Advice: Know when your tires are done…if the car is too floaty or has no forward push due to worn tires you should probably not run…it might be better to just run solo at that point. 📷 @gorillatornado taken in Salinas Municipal Airport by @driftcentral_official

Early Drift Central: In his early days at DC Art piloted a turbo 300ZX which he was converting into a drift build. Here he is dancing to “Hotline Bling.” Experience at the Pro Level: Both Art and his wife, Hillary, were working on the @racedatalabs team at Formula Drift on the data acquisition side of things.
