Griffith’s Gnat
⠀
When trout are sipping tiny stuff in the Driftless, this fly usually gets eaten. Midges are around all year on our spring creeks, and this one just works. Fish it alone or behind a bigger dry. 🎣

I like to tie mine extra buggy!

New line, new feel. The Cortland 444 Spring Creek is absolutely dialed for Driftless water—landing flies like a whisper and turning over leaders without a fight. Can’t wait for the season to open so I can put this thing to work.

Driftless water, wild color, and a fish that belongs exactly where it was caught.

Morning light over cold Driftless water.
The kind that makes you pause before the first cast — listening to the creek, watching the fog lift, and feeling the pull of small water and wild trout.

This is why we fish.
