POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

What’s going on in this country is downright disgraceful. And what’s been happening for far longer than most people realize is heartbreaking. Marginalized people are being targeted—simply because of the color of their skin. Women are still viewed as “less than” in the eyes of many. And “protecting children” only seems to be a concern when it comes to birth—not protecting kids from assault, trafficking, and abuse. I could go on forever.

I’m sharing this not to further divide the country, but to encourage you to look inward if you’ve ever found yourself saying, “Meh, I don’t care about politics.” You should. Politics—whether we like it or not—impacts every part of our lives, including many things you may not even realize.

I want this country to thrive. I want humans to thrive. I want people to live without fear. I want people to be happy—to live kind, beautiful lives.

I recognize this message may infuriate the wrong people, and I’m okay with that. If it makes even one person think differently—think critically—then I’ve done my job.

Stay safe, friends.

Last week, we celebrated what would have been my dad Elliot’s 65th birthday — and did it exactly how he would’ve wanted: surrounded by family, laughter, good food, and his favorite people.

We gathered at @thepizzeria.ny in Babylon, one of his absolute favorite spots. Paul, Heather, and the entire team went above and beyond to make it so special. My dad loved The Pizzeria crew — so much so that his prayer card now hangs in their Islip location, where he was a regular.

They surprised us with custom birthday hats featuring photos of Dad, and even wrote a personalized poem that captured who he was — joyful, loving, full of life. We felt so many emotions the moment we walked in, but most of all, we felt seen and supported by a crew he truly loved.

The seven-layer cake came from @stanleysbakery in East Islip, another place he frequented and loved (and yes, it was his favorite kind).

He had the best laugh. He loved people, and he loved making them happy. And more than anything, he loved his family. Nothing brought him more joy than having everyone at the table — usually while trying to feed everyone his meal. He was the ultimate food pusher, and we miss that so much.

We’ll never stop missing him. But we’ll also never stop celebrating him.

I love you more, Dad. Always and forever. by @drinkinglongisland

The @bambooroomtikibar is a must stop in Savannah, GA 🍹

Not only is it the city’s premier tropical cocktail hotspot, but it’s also a bit of a speakeasy. You’ll find this gem on the second floor right above Sorry Charlie’s Oyster Bar (@sorrycharlies).

This immersive, television-free escape transports guests out of Georgia with its intricate decor, featuring bamboo accents and hand-carved masks crafted by renowned tiki artisans. The beverage program takes center stage, highlighting high-quality, rum-forward classic and modern tiki cocktails made with fresh-squeezed juices and house-made syrups, alongside a dedicated Tiki Happy Hour from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday through Sunday.

While the focus remains strictly on the drinks, guests can also enjoy small, island-inspired snacks and select oyster dishes sourced from the kitchen downstairs.

And if you’re having a day, make sure to check out the rooftop (different bar, but same owners).

Three things you need to do this fall:

1. Go to Montauk (it’s the best this time of year)
2. Stay at @dauntsalbatross
3. Dine at @thebirdmontauk

You’ll thank me later.

On Monday, October 19, the most beautiful baby boy, Brandon Elliot, entered the world. My brother and sister-in-law’s first child. My first biological nephew. My mom and dad’s first grandchild.

I don’t even know where to begin with how special this little guy already is.

Brandon was named after our cousin, who was more like a brother to us, and Elliot, after my dad. My dad, who would have absolutely adored being a grandfather. Who would have loved nothing more than to meet his first grandchild, hold him in his arms, and watch my brother become a dad.

There’s a part of me that aches knowing my dad isn’t here for this. I wish more than anything that he could have met Brandon. But there’s something beautiful about knowing a piece of him will live on in this little boy’s name, and that Brandon will grow up hearing stories about the incredible man he was.

I already know my brother and sister-in-law are going to be incredible parents, and it makes me so happy knowing Brandon will grow up surrounded by people with the kindest hearts who will always show up for him.

Brandon Elliot, I can’t wait to watch you grow, spoil you relentlessly, show you this beautiful world, and tell you all about the people who came before you and the love that will always surround you.

Welcome to the world. Remember, it’s all waiting there for you. 🤍 by @drinkinglongisland

If Halloween had a neighborhood bar, it would be @thecortland.

Located right on Main Street in Bay Shore, The Cortland is serving up horror-movie-inspired cocktails, over-the-top Halloween decor, and the ultimate spooky atmosphere.

From the creepy details tucked into every corner to the themed drink menu, they really understood the assignment. It’s equal parts spooky, nostalgic, and a little chaotic—in the best way possible.

Whether you’re stopping in for a cocktail or making a whole night of it, add this one to your Long Island bar bucket list.

We went into @darksidehaunt thinking we could handle it… and some of us almost didn’t make it through the front door. 💀

Located in the middle of nowhere in Calverton, surrounded by fields, corn mazes, and absolute darkness, DARKSIDE might actually be the scariest haunted house on Long Island. And the fact that you’re basically in the middle of nowhere makes the whole experience THAT much creepier.

But what really blew me away was the production. The attention to detail, the sets, the atmosphere, the acting… EVERYTHING was next-level. This isn’t just people jumping out at you (there is PLENTY of that). The entire experience is seriously impressive.

And the best part? We ALL went in, and we ALL survived. Although, judging by the heart rate monitor at the end of this video, some of us are still recovering. 125 BPM?! GIRL.

Need a little liquid courage? @whbbrewingco is right on the property, so you can grab a beer before you go in… or one after to calm your nerves.

🎃👻 4 SPOOKY HAUNTED HOUSES ON LONG ISLAND YOU NEED TO SEE!

Last night, we hit the road to visit some of Long Island’s spookiest Halloween displays, and we did it in the BEST way possible.

We hopped aboard the Halloween trolley with @hitchli & @besteabyhitch in Babylon for three hours of spooky music, Halloween trivia, drinks, and plenty of laughs! We even had the fabulous drag queen @theonlyporsche entertaining us along the way.

We made stops along the route, including a visit to the adorable @shopyourstotreasure in Massapequa Park.

🎃 SAVE THIS LIST FOR YOUR HALLOWEEN ADVENTURES! Note: many of the interactive stops are open Friday and Saturday only.

These amazing displays are free, but I highly recommend bringing cash to donate to the wonderful causes they support. You get to enjoy some incredible Halloween spirit while giving back to the community.
