✨Sharing my love for cocktails
📍The Netherlands
POSTS STORIES REELS
Hi everyone! It’s time for an intro post and to finally dump my face here :’). I’ve never posted myself here before, so here I am: the face behind the cocktails. My name is Lisa and I’m from the Netherlands, living in a small town near Rotterdam. I started making cocktails during the corona lockdown. I slowly got into it, and my love for making cocktails grew. Over the past few years, I have gained a lot of knowledge about flavors, liqueurs, and garnishes. At some point, my recipes and ideas were scattered everywhere. My brother came up with the idea to create an Instagram account so I could keep them all in one place. I kept it private for a long time, but after a while, I was ready to make it public (glad I did!). Thank you for following along on my cocktail journey. I love sharing my passion with you and being part of this cocktail community. Cheers and love, my friends! 🤍🍸✨ #welcomepost #cocktailjourney #drinkstagram #homebartender #instadrinks #cocktails #mixology #craftcocktails #cocktailsofinstagram #cheers by @drinksbylisa
Autumn Spiced Hibiscus A warm and cozy fall sip. After all these spooky Halloween cocktails, this drink feels so neat haha. It’s a good transition into these colder and darker days. The bourbon gives warmth, while the hibiscus adds a floral touch. The sage and cinnamon give it a cozy fall vibe. Just fall in a glass. Cheers! 60 ml bourbon 20 ml lemon juice 15 ml cinnamon syrup* 45 ml cold hibiscus tea 2 sage leaves Sparkling water First, add a rim of dried hibiscus to the glass. Add all ingredients (except the sparkling water) to the cocktail shaker, add ice and shake. Strain into the glass with ice, and top with sparkling water. Garnish with sage leaves, a lemon slice, and a cinnamon stick. *Cinnamon syrup: 1 cup water 1 cup sugar 2 cinnamon sticks Add all ingredients to a saucepan. Bring to medium heat while stirring, until the sugar has dissolved. Let it cool, remove the cinnamon sticks, then strain into a bottle. #fallcocktails #bourboncocktails #instadrinks #cocktailrecipe #cocktailoftheday by @drinksbylisa
The Brain Eater Ready to lose your mind? I may have gone a little too far with this garnish lol.. It’s creepy and gory. The flavors in this drink are quite the opposite. The pear and orgeat give a soft layer, while the thyme adds a subtle herbal touch. It’s horror on the outside, sweetness on the inside. So, would you try it? Cheers! 60 ml vodka 20 ml lemon juice 15 ml orgeat 45 ml pear juice 2 sprigs of thyme First, add a rim of honey mixed with black food coloring to the glass. Add all ingredients to the cocktail shaker, add ice and shake. Double strain into the glass without ice. Garnish with a mini brain*. *Mini brain: Mini marshmallows (vegan) butter Puffed rice Red food coloring Melt mini marshmallows and butter together in the microwave. Stir in red food coloring, then gradually mix in puffed rice until the mixture holds its shape. Press into a half-sphere silicone mold and let set. Add the brain details with a cocktail pick, then finish with honey mixed with red food coloring for the blood. #halloweencocktails #drinkstagram #cocktailgarnish #mixology #cocktailoftheday by @drinksbylisa
The Widow’s Kiss A dark and mysterious secret. This drink feels witchy, gothic, and a little bit dangerous. I absolutely love the DIY spike studs on the glass. They give it that edgy, gothic look I was going for. The gin brings a herbal, botanical base, while the cassis adds a deep, fruity layer. The rosemary adds a fresh, aromatic touch and the butterfly pea tea adds a subtle, mellow note to round out the flavors. A little dark secret in a glass. Cheers! 60 ml gin 20 ml lemon juice 15 ml cassis syrup 45 ml cold butterfly pea tea 2 sprigs of rosemary Add all ingredients to the cocktail shaker, add ice and shake. Double strain into the glass without ice. Finished with DIY spike studs, a spiderweb and little fake spiders. #halloweencocktails #cocktailgarnish #drinkstagram #cocktailoftheday #homebartender by @drinksbylisa
The Poison Grave October means Halloween month. Me, as a horror and thriller fan, this feels like my month. We’re starting at the cemetery. I wanted to create something that looks almost toxic. The bright green Midori felt perfect for this, with dark chocolate cookies creating the look of earth. Surprisingly, chocolate and melon work so well together. A sweet little poison, fresh from the cemetery. Cheers! 30 vodka 30 ml Midori melon liqueur 20 ml lemon juice 15 ml orgeat Sparkling water Add all ingredients (except the sparkling water) to the cocktail shaker, add ice and shake. Strain into the glass with ice. Top with sparkling water, but leave soms space for the cookie layer. Add a layer of chocolate cookie crumbs and garnish with the mini grave decorations. For the earth layer: I used Oreo chocolate cookies. Twist the cookies apart, remove the filling with a spoon, then crush them into an earthy texture. #halloweencocktails #cocktailgarnish #drinkstagram #cocktailinspiration #cocktailoftheday by @drinksbylisa
The Air Nomads “Airbending is the element of freedom.” This is the fourth and final element of the series Avatar: The Last Airbender. The Air Nomads are a people defined by movement, lightness, and freedom. I wanted to capture the dreamy feeling of a pink and purple sunset and bring it into this drink. A little Appa inspiration had to make its way into the garnish, floating among the clouds. The flavors are light, soft and floral. A little piece of the sky, floating in a glass. Cheers! 60 ml gin 20 ml lemon juice 15 ml elderflower syrup 1/2 tsp rose water Cold butterfly pea tea with a few drops of lemon juice to turn it purple For the foam: egg white and a few drops of lemon juice Add the gin, lemon juice, and elderflower syrup to the cocktail shaker, add ice and shake. Strain into the glass without ice. Slowly layer the cold butterfly pea tea over the back of a spoon. Add the ingredients for the foam to a separate glass and mix with a hand frother for 30 seconds. Pour the foam into the glass. Garnish with dried flower petals and cotton candy. #avatarthelastairbender #ginsour #cocktailrecipes #homebartender #drinkstagram by @drinksbylisa
The Fire Nation “Firebending is the element of power.” Time for the third element from the series: Avatar: The Last Airbender. The Fire Nation is a people shaped by passion, ambition, discipline and tradition. This drink is a perfect twist on the spicy marg. And yes, I couldn’t leave out real fire lol. This was such a fun garnish experiment. Everything in this drink feels like power, fire, and intensity. Cheers! 45 ml mezcal 30 ml Cointreau 15 ml lime juice 15 ml hot honey 30 ml blood orange juice 2 slices of jalapeno First, add a rim of tajin to the glass. Add all ingredients to the cocktail shaker, add ice and shake. Double strain into the glass with ice. Garnish with dried red peppers and a fire lime. For the fire lime: I used an empty lime half, a sugar cube and 151-proof rum to create the flame. A little disclaimer: please be safe when playing with fire. Do this in a safe environment and make sure to blow out the flame before drinking :) #avatarthelastairbender #spicymargarita #drinkstagram #cocktailoftheday #cocktailgarnish by @drinksbylisa
The Earth Kingdom “Earthbending is the element of substance.” I’m continuing my exploration of the other elements from the series: Avatar: The Last Airbender. The Earth Kingdom is a people rooted in earth, stone, nature and resilience. I wanted to bring that earthy connection into this drink, and around the glass. The dark rum, ginger, and cinnamon create this deep, warm and earthy flavor. And somehow, the matcha brings everything together with an extra earthy note. I never thought I’d be using matcha, but here we are lol. Cheers! 45 ml dark rum (I used Kraken rum) 15 ml ginger liqueur 15 ml lime juice 15 ml cinnamon syrup* 60 ml cooled matcha water (1 tsp matcha powder) First, add the green leaves to the glass. Add all ingredients to the cocktail shaker, add ice and shake. Strain into the glass with ice. Garnish with a lime slice. #avatarthelastairbender #cocktailrecipe #fallcocktails #drinkstagram #cocktailoftheday by @drinksbylisa
The Water Tribe “Waterbending is the element of change.” This cocktail is inspired by one of my favorite series: Avatar: The Last Airbender. The Water Tribe is a people deeply connected to water, ice and nature. I wanted to create a little frozen landscape in a glass, with blue water, ice rocks, and a touch of (coconut) snow. It’s a fresh tropical sip of pineapple and Blue Curaçao, balanced with coconut water. And now I’m tempted to explore the other elements too… who knows. Cheers! 45 ml wodka 15 ml Blue Curaçao 15 ml lime juice 30 ml pineapple juice 30 ml coconut water First, add a rim of coconut flakes to the glass. Add all ingredients to the cocktail shaker, add ice and shake. Strain into the glass with ice rocks. Garnish with extra coconut flakes. #avatarthelastairbender #cocktailoftheday #drinkstagram #cocktailinspiration #cocktailrecipes by @drinksbylisa
The Pink Dragon A soft and balanced sour. This drink screams summer in a glass. Pear and vanilla are such a great match, giving it a soft and delicate base. The dragonfruit adds a subtle fruity note, while the coconut water gives it just the right amount of body. These flavors came together so lovely, and that dragonfruit color is just too pretty! Cheers! 45 ml Bourbon Vanilla Infused gin @siredmondgin 15 ml pear liqueur 20 ml lemon juice 20 ml dragonfruit syrup* 30 ml coconut water Egg white Add all ingredients to the cocktail shaker, and dry shake. Add ice and shake again. Strain into the glass without ice. Garnish with dragon fruit powder, black sesame seed, and a sprigs of thyme. *Dragonfruit syrup: 1 cup water 1 cup sugar 1 cup (frozen) dragonfruit pieces Add all ingredients to a saucepan. Bring to medium heat while stirring, until the sugar has dissolved. Let it cool, and strain into a bottle. #ginsour #summercocktails #cocktailoftheday #homebartender #drinkstagram by @drinksbylisa
The Tokyo Sunset A tiki with a hint of Japan. I don’t know if I’ve ever made a tiki drink before, but this one was so fun to make, especially the garnish with the banana leaves. The tropical base with passionfruit, mango and orgeat makes for such a soft, fruity combination. To add that little touch of Japan, sake fits here perfectly. These flavors are sooo good together. I loved this one so much. Cheers! 45 ml white rum 15 ml sake 15 ml passionfruit liqueur 15 ml lime juice 10 ml orgeat 30 ml mango juice First, add banana leaves to the glass. Add all ingredients to the cocktail shaker, add ice and shake. Strain into the glass with ice. Garnish with mango slices, a lime slice, and edible flowers. #tikicocktails #drinkstagram #cocktailoftheday #instacocktails #homebartender by @drinksbylisa
Rhubarb Jasmine Blossom When rhubarb meets jasmine. This drink is a little floral, a little tart, and very refreshing. Rhubarb and green apple make a surprisingly good pair. This syrup brings a fresh, slightly tart fruitiness. The jasmine tea adds a soft floral body, while the gin brings a spiced botanical layer, and the elderflower adds an extra touch of floral sweetness. A full taste of summer. Cheers! 45 ml gin 15 ml elderflower liqueur 20 ml lemon juice 15 ml rhubarb-apple syrup* 45 ml cold jasmine tea Add all ingredients to the cocktail shaker, add ice and shake. Strain into the glass without ice. Garnish with rhubarb and edible flowers. *Rhubarb-apple syrup 1 cup water 1 cup sugar 1 cup rhubarb 1 cup granny smith apple (its fresh, tart flavor works especially well with the rhubarb) Add all ingredients to a saucepan. Bring to medium heat while stirring, until the sugar has dissolved. Let it cool and infuse with the rhubarb and apple, then strain into a bottle. #drinkstagram #summercocktails #gincocktails #cocktailrecipes #homebartender by @drinksbylisa
