Walked the floor today. Two Grand Sports sitting here right now.

Pitch Gray with the silver Heritage stripe and gray GT2 seats with red belts. And Blade Silver with Adrenaline Red inside. Both 2LT coupes, both Z52.

So here's my question. If you were building your own Grand Sport, what would you do different?
Color. Interior. Coupe or convertible. 2LT or 3LT. Stripe or no stripe. Z52 or skip it.

Past. Present. What’s next.

When we designed this cover, it was just a line I liked.

Tonight it felt a little more relevant.

I’ve had a pretty solid run of bad luck lately. Some of it has been irritating. One part of it was genuinely catastrophic. I’m not going to unpack all of that here.

Then this showed up.

It’s just a custom laptop cover. Something small. Something I’d been looking forward to. Something that, in the grand scheme of things, shouldn’t matter much.

But it made me smile.

And it reminded me of something important:

The bullshit is temporary. Your mindset is what matters.

You can’t change the past. You don’t always get to control the present.

But what’s next?

That part still depends a lot on what you decide to do with it.

Funny that a laptop cover was the thing that reminded me of that tonight. by @drivenwithalan

For a guy who dropped out of college, I sure am fascinated by learning.

It’s always something different. One day it’s digging into Corvette builds, deciphering RPOs and understanding why certain combinations work. The next it’s looking at design continuity, figuring out why GM made a particular engineering decision, or teaching myself some completely different corner of YouTube, video production, photography or whatever else I’ve decided I need to understand that day.

There’s probably a racer’s mentality buried in there somewhere too. No matter how good something is, you always know there’s another tenth hiding in it. Something can always be cleaner, sharper, faster or just a little bit better.

Not exactly the most exciting way to spend a Saturday morning, but there’s an odd satisfaction in staring at something you don’t quite understand, messing with it for a while and eventually figuring it out.

I think that’s probably the part I enjoy most. Not necessarily knowing how to do something, but learning how to do it and then immediately wondering how I can do it better.

And yes, if you’re looking closely at the screen, you’re getting a little sneak preview of a project that’s coming soon.
