NY chicken and gyro is fantastic! Hopefully add more locations in LA and down to OC. I would avoid the west LA location...no parking and odd setup with other places to eat in the same building. Their portions are good and food is tasty! Definitely give it the nod over Halal guys, and i like Halal guys. taken in Saticoy & Topanga by @drives2dives

It really is a hole in the wall! Very good hard tacos...haven't had a burrito yet. Just wished they used white cheese instead of cheddar, but still solid. Street parking and minimal human interaction. I've been going for years! taken in Chuy's Tacos Dorados by @drives2dives

If you need a quick dim sum fix...Definitely go to Family pastry on spring street in Chinatown. You can be in and out in less than 10 minutes! All this was $8...baked char siu bao, Har gow, siu mai, sesame ball and rice cake. taken in Longs Family Pastry by @drives2dives

I've been coming to this spot for over 5 years and it is always good! The katsu transports me back to high school, eating at Grace's on kapahulu..mmm. Ever had food do that before?
The owners must have lived in Hawaii at some point. The Mac salad has little bits of carrot and sometimes tuna...100% authentic plate lunch!

Sometimes I just go and get Mac salad to take home. The family meal is great for groups.
Order a mini plate unless you're sharing, 3 people can eat a regular plate and be full, maybe add a side musubi and you're set. The regular plate easily weighs 2 pounds, no doubt!

I've been going to El Tarasco for over 20 years and it is still fantastic! They have locations in west LA, and the south bay. They NEVER disappoint and the food is always good. I recommend their carnitas, but you really cannot go wrong. The tacos I ordered today were outstanding! $10 for 3 tacos and a drink on taco Tuesday. You also get giant fresh chips and fresh salsa with each order. Portions are always generous and service is quick.

If you EVER see this combination (Culver's and Cracker Barrel) in the same lot, STOP....AND ENJOY BOTH!!!!!
You will only regret not going, for the rest of your life. This heavenly combo is located in Kingman, AZ. Possible to get both in a few states, UT AZ maybe NV, TX and WI. taken in Culver's by @drives2dives

This place has been her for over 30 years! When I went to UCLA early 90s, cookies were $0.25, yes a quarter each. They've gone up a quarter per decade, but still a quality cookie for $.75. They serve dreyers ice cream too! I wouldn't pay to park just for cookies, but if you are in Westwood for whatever reason, or get a street space on Broxton, definitely treat yourself to one or two or a dozen. Been trying to get here for years, sorry Geoff. Finally made it and regret not coming here sooner! First off, right in Hollywood and tons of parking, seriously, tons. If the parking lot is full there has to be 100 people inside. The pizza is authentic and new York style thin crust. You can watch it all being made and super fresh ingredients. Cannot go wrong with anything your order! Word of caution, you have to eat it here, do not take home, will not make it, and you will be disappointed. I ate some here and took some home..
Better out of the oven! And Besides all the chili oil is tableside anyway, and it's hot. Definitely going back to try other pies and easy to make a destination or take a group before the game. Two big tvs if you want to watch a game... taken in DeSano Pizza Bakery Los Angeles by @drives2dives
