Birthday week in our house continues with Bravo turning 4 today 🥹 Happy birthday to the boy who loves pork, popcorn & potatoes, watching the birds, bunnies & squirrels, tormenting his brother, and his favorite thing in the world- camping!! When we decided to get a cat we never thought his favorite place to be in the world was our camper 😂 love that crazy cat! by @drkelbel

Happy 15th Birthday to our first born, Bubba Wubba, Bud, J-ro, Mr Jethro! 🎉💙 hard to believe you’re old enough for your learners permit 😂 love you so much & hope we can somehow have another 15 more years together 💙

My almost birthday buddy, we celebrated over the weekend in Wisconsin Dells

Figured it was time he gets his own happy meal so I stopped at McDonald’s on my drive home

He was def curious, on his back legs sniffing it out

Good smells!

He was nice enough to share with his siblings

I missed him grabbing his first fry out of the box so I was just hoping he’d grab another out and instead he just grabbed the whole thing 😂

And tbh the happy meal toy kinda looks like him 🥹 I think he enjoyed it overall by @drkelbel

Finally made it to @chichiswestend today and it did not disappoint!! It was the staple restaurant for dinner pre-homecoming dance in high school and I prob haven’t been there since but I was SO EXCITED they were back and now I can’t wait to go back again. The chips came out HOT & fresh & delicious. For the meal I stuck with the classics, chicken chimichanga & the fried ice cream, @curtdanielson25 went with the flautas. Got to attend my first NHL playoff game thanks to @nicolet_law ! I was lucky enough to win amazing tickets from them & while we were not lucky enough to see the Wild win it was still such a fun time & an incredible experience! I got to try the French onion brat with raclette cheese (the one playoff special I wanted to try)- so good! And we witnessed some great hockey (& some Olympic athletes), just hoping the Wild can at least extend the series next game!🤞🏻💚❤️

It has been exactly one year since I posted from the rehab hospital about my Neuromyelitis Optica diagnosis, and just wanted to post again on the last day of #NMOSDawarenessmonth an update.

NMOSD is characterized by sudden paralysis, vision loss, weakness, pain & disability. I found this out when I woke up one morning last March paralyzed from the waist down. Luckily I was diagnosed quickly (once back home in MN) & high dose steroids & plasma exchange were started right away to reduce inflammation & try to prevent permanent damage and I regained most feeling & the ability to walk again… some people aren’t as lucky.

Unfortunately last May I started having eye pain & some vision problems so I went back to the hospital & they found I developed new lesions on my brain stem, so I was started on more steroids, and as a by product I developed Bells Palsy, so that was fun development. Some people go years between relapses, but with mine being 2 months apart the doctors considered it fairly aggressive disease.

There isn’t a cure, only medicines that work to prevent further lesions from developing & further disability or symptoms, and relapses can happen at any time. I was FINALLY able to start on a preventative, Ultomiris, in July, and I’ll have to get infusions of it every 8 weeks for the rest of my life to help prevent further issues. Of course I had my infusion today and I forgot to take a pic 😂

It’s not only a #raredisease (affects roughly 0.5-4 people in 100,000), but it’s commonly misdiagnosed as MS (or other diseases) although it’s 10 times less common than MS & considered more severe & damaging. There are only 3 FDA approved drugs specific for NMOSD & a few other off-label immunosuppressives used, so it could benefit from increased awareness and recognition 💚 #thisisNMOSD #nmosdawareness #ultomiris by @drkelbel

Happy 12th Birthday to our Josie Pose! When scrolling through the 976,424 pics on my phone finding some favorites to post it dawned on me that over the years I have MANY selfies I’ve tried to take with Josie that she’s “ruined” because she ALWAYS has to get a lick or two in on your face so I should just share some of those over the years 😂 she’s always loved licking & we often joke she has a giraffe tongue. I should have known I guess based on the first selfie we ever took (last pic)

☀️ Take me away to 30A ☀️

After last year’s fiasco road trip, we were lucky to have a wonderful trip south to one of our favorite places, the Florida Panhandle. We had another great rental with @oceanreefresorts in Santa Rosa Beach, right on highway 30A across from the beach. We all loved hanging out by the pool, we found some new favorite hang outs & delicious food & visited some of our old favorites. For the first time we experienced sea fog, nightly, & never really had a nice sunset but the weather was warm so we had no complaints! We also enjoyed some great flyovers by various military aircraft- F18s, F35s, C-130s, Blackhawks, one of our other favorite parts about staying in this area! It was also a little bittersweet with it being the first trip without Maya, but we were able to scatter some of her ashes on the beach ❤️ Until next time, Florida! taken in 30-A Santa Rosa Beach by @drkelbel
