Lots of new faces here, so a little howdy 👋

I’m Sumitra Khandelwal — eye surgeon, educator, mom of 3, professional overcommitter, hype girl, frequent traveler to talk about eyeball surgery, and apparently still working on the domestic skills 😂

Around here you’ll get a mix of eye stuff, doctor life, working-mom chaos, travel, food, and whatever else fits into the day.

Glad you’re here 💕

If I could sit across from my 30-year-old self for five minutes, here’s what I’d tell her:
➡️ You do not need your whole career figured out yet.
➡️ You can be ambitious and want a full life outside medicine.
➡️ There is no prize for being exhausted all the time.
➡️ Saying no will become one of the most hardest career skills you learn.
➡️ You will miss things because of work. Make sure you miss work for the important things.
➡️ Your definition of success in life will change through the years. Let it.

Still learning some of these at 44 👀❤️
