Today makes 29 years since we stood in front of family and friends and committed ourselves to each other and this life that we have co-created. These 29 years do not tell the full story of two young spirits that met as friends 40 years ago when we both moved on the same Brooklyn block. 40 years of laughing, loving, fussing, being foolish, being serious, dancing, traveling, raising a family, and building a life brick by brick by brick-because of, and in spite of. Teaching is a very special ministry that comes with great responsibility, but brings immeasurable rewards. It’s definitely not for everyone so this message is for those who feel called. Finding the right teacher-school fit can be a task, but when the fit is right you can emerge as a powerful force in students’ lives. There are an infinite number of roads you can take in life. We spent the evening of my Mother’s 82nd birthday in Panama celebrating at her bestie and birthday twin’s Met Gala themed party. Mom represented doing double duty as a member of the birthday girl’s court as well as being a birthday girl herself. by @drkishayna

Yesterday marked the 1 year anniversary of me seeing Beyoncé in concert for the very first time. Yes I said for the first time, but definitely not the last. I shopped in my closet and wore my black designer made leather chaps, and my @adhazelma feather earrings. Both of which I’ve owned for years. I borrowed the hat from my girlfriend and wore my cowboy Sambas (because I need to be comfortable and was not trying to stand all day in cowboy boots). And since we were in London I spent the morning before the concert being fancy, drinking tea and eating crumpets. Act 3 where are you because I am ready. by @drkishayna
