Honoured to be invited as a Course Mentor for a one-day workshop on Nitrous Oxide Inhalation Sedation at Haldia Institute of Dental Sciences, Haldia, West Bengal.

What made the day even more special was that the workshop coincided with Guru Purnima—a day that celebrates the timeless relationship between teachers and learners.

There could not have been a more meaningful occasion to share my knowledge, clinical experience and expertise in nitrous oxide sedation with the enthusiastic students. Teaching is truly a privilege, but learning from the curiosity and energy of young professionals was equally rewarding.

I am grateful to Dr. Amitabh Chakraborty, faculty and organisers at Haldia Institute of Dental Sciences for inviting me and for creating such a wonderful platform for academic exchange.

Honoured to be a Panelist representing ISPPD at IDA D32 Workshop 2026

It was a privilege to participate as a panelist at the Indian Dental Association (IDA) D32 Workshop, held on 27–28 June 2026 at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai.

The workshop, themed “Reiterating the Need for Preventive & Promotive Oral Health and Standardisation across Dentistry,” brought together leading experts from across the country to discuss the future of Indian dentistry and the importance of evidence-based, standardized clinical practices.

It was an enriching experience to share perspectives, exchange ideas with esteemed colleagues, and contribute to discussions aimed at strengthening oral healthcare delivery in India. Representatives of all dental specialities realized importance of not working in isolation but collectively developing protocols for risk assessment and dental disease prevention.

My sincere thanks to the organizers, fellow panelists, and all participants for making this a meaningful academic event. I look forward to continuing to work towards advancing preventive dentistry, pediatric oral healthcare, clinical standardization, and safe dental care across the country.

It was a privilege to serve as a mentor for the pre-conference workshop at the “19th World Dental Sciences and Oral Health Conference” as a part of Pierre Fauchard Academy held at Manav Rachna Dental College, Faridabad.

Interacting with young dentists and students on a subject that I am deeply passionate about is always incredibly fulfilling. One of my strongest beliefs is that great dentistry is not defined only by flawless clinical techniques, advanced materials, or sophisticated equipment. It begins with understanding the person sitting in the dental chair.

As dental professionals, we must learn to understand the minds of our patients—their fears, anxieties, expectations, and emotions. When we can reduce fear and anxiety, we don’t just perform better dentistry; we create positive experiences that build trust and transform the way patients perceive dental care.

It was wonderful to see such enthusiastic participation, thoughtful discussions, and a genuine eagerness to embrace a more patient-centered approach.

My sincere thanks to the Dr. Gauri Kalra Yadav, Dr. Puneet Batra, office of Pierre Fauchard Academy and all the participants for making the workshop so engaging and memorable. Looking forward to many more opportunities to inspire the next generation of dentists.

It was an honour to participate in the two-day 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐃𝐂 𝐀𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐦 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬 organised by the 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, New Delhi as a representative of the Indian Society of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry.

The discussions were insightful and forward-looking, focusing on preparing future dental professionals with not only sound clinical knowledge and skills but also the competencies required to provide truly patient-centered care.

One aspect that particularly encouraged me was the widespread recognition of the importance of communication skills as an integral component of dental education which I have been emphasizing upon in many informal discussions within our fraternity.

Another significant area of consensus across specialties was the importance of sedation in contemporary dental practice. It was encouraging to see broad agreement that sedation education should become an integral part of the dental curriculum. There is an increasing realization that appropriate use of sedation can significantly improve the patient experience, reduce fear and anxiety associated with dental treatment, and facilitate the delivery of quality care to a wider range of patients, including children and individuals with special healthcare needs.

Grateful to the Indian Society of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry for the opportunity to contribute to these discussions and interact with colleagues from diverse specialties who share a common vision of strengthening dental education and improving patient care.

Honored to have been part of the Certificate Course on Special Health Care Needs in Dentistry conducted by the Indian Society of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, held in Bangalore on 23rd–24th April 2026.

I had the opportunity to contribute as course faculty and coordinator, delivering a lecture on the “Use of nitrous oxide and oral sedation in children with special health care needs”—an area that is vital in making dental care safer and more accessible for this vulnerable group.

Additionally, I was involved in the workstation focused on the management of seizures in a dental practice, where we engaged with participants through practical, real-world scenarios.

I would like to sincerely thank Dr. Sudhindra Baliga (President, ISPPD), Dr. Virinder Goyal (Secretary, ISPPD), and Dr. Mousami Goswami (Chief Coordinator) for entrusting me with the responsibility of being a faculty and coordinator for this course.

A special note of gratitude to Dr. Kavita Rai and Dr. Premila Naidu for organizing the course so seamlessly in Bangalore.

Programs like these play a significant role in strengthening the clinical confidence of pediatric dentists and advancing the standard of care for children with special needs across India.

Delighted to have attended the 2nd Conference on Dental Sedation & Anesthesia organized by the South Asian Association of Pediatric Dentistry and hosted by Saveetha Dental College at Chennai.

What began as a concept year ago when the first edition was organized at MAIDS, New Delhi has now been carried forward to the next level—making this edition even more meaningful and impactful.

I had the privilege of serving as a pre-conference mentor for the workshop on Oral Sedation—an enriching experience interacting with colleagues and sharing clinical insights.

Additionally, I was also fortunate to participate in the hands-on workshop by Blue Oceana courtesy Seenivasan Varadachar, focusing on intraosseous anesthesia, including the use of advanced devices such as SleeperOne, Soan, and QuickSleeper.

A truly insightful experience with valuable learning and meaningful professional exchange.

Delighted to have delivered a high-impact lecture at the CDE program “Unraveling the Enigma & Harnessing the Acumen in Nitrous Oxide Sedation” at Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, New Delhi.

Spoke on a subject close to my clinical practice—ensuring success and avoiding failures in nitrous oxide sedation. From refining case selection to mastering technique and anticipating complications, the session aimed at translating knowledge into predictable, safe, and effective outcomes.

Truly encouraged by the engaging discussions and enthusiasm of the participants—this is what drives academic excellence forward.

Honored and grateful 🙏

Over the years, I have often spoken about the successes of sedation—what works, what delivers results, and how we achieve effective outcomes.
But this time, I consciously chose a different path: to speak about errors—because that is where the deepest learning truly happens.

I had the privilege of delivering the Colgate Oration at the Postgraduate Convention of the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, where I spoke on “Beyond Dosage: Errors in Pediatric Oral Sedation.”
It led to engaging discussions on how sedation safety goes far beyond just calculating the right dose.

Also taking a moment to share (a bit late!) another special milestone — delivering the Colgate Oration at the 46th Annual Conference of ISPPD, where my talk focused on “Errors and Controversies in Nitrous Oxide Sedation.”

Across both platforms, the message remained clear:
We don’t just learn from what goes right — we grow by understanding what can go wrong.
Sedation safety is a system — not just a skill.

Deeply thankful to ISPPD and Colgate for these prestigious opportunities, and to all colleagues, students, and mentors who made these experiences truly meaningful.
