The first Black Capitalists: The Vineyard Convening happened on August 17, and I am still sitting with the feeling in that room, which was joy.

One evening on Martha’s Vineyard. One panel: Reginald M. Browne, Jason Rogers, Jane Reindorf-Osei, moderated by Maria Byrd. Conversations about capital, ownership, and what the homeland and the diaspora owe each other in practice.

Grateful to our partners and sponsors who made it real. A beginning, not an ending.

Historic! A partnership between Black Capitalists and the NAACP. Thank you to @naacp for your commitment to our work. May we never forget that economic power is civil rights work. taken in Chicago by @drlaryea

Long before the transatlantic slave trade, Mansa Musa ruled the Mali Empire as the richest man in history. His wealth and influence helped shape global trade, education, and economic development. His legacy is a reminder that Black excellence and economic leadership didn’t begin recently, it’s always been part of the story. by @drlaryea

One of the most rewarding experiences of publishing my book, Black Capitalists, is seeing all the many places it travels to. The latest is Zambia! Thanks Barnabas Zulu for the thoughtful and precise piece in the Daily Nation Newspaper on my reframe of capitalism, and the promise of Black Capitalism, as I define it. taken in Zambia by @drlaryea

I had the privilege of an amazing conversation with Dr. Rachel Naa-du Laryea a Ghanaian-American doctor. Scholar with Phd in Anthropology and African American Studies. and author of The Black Capitalists. 🇬🇭✨ Phd in Anthropology and African American Studies.

We talked about growing up in the U.S., reconnecting with her Ghanaian roots, the diaspora’s return to Africa, and how embracing African identity can transform lives. We also touched on how The Black Capitalists empowers Black people in Ghana and across the continent.

It was a deep, powerful, and inspiring discussion you don’t want to miss.
Watch, listen, and be inspired. 🌍🔥
