Dr. Leo is Tupac. 🎃

For years, people have told me I remind them of Tupac. I've heard it in Rwanda. I've heard it in the Dominican Republic. I've heard it more times than I can count right here in California. This Halloween, I decided to pay homage to the legend.

Pac spoke truth about our communities when few others would, and his voice still carries that weight today. Recreating these iconic images was my way of honoring him.

Huge thank you to my friend, the amazing @evision_photoz, for bringing my vision to life.

LIVE PAST 100 | PART 1: THE BODY

What if the greatest threats to our health are the ones we never see coming?

Some of the most serious health conditions develop without obvious symptoms. Knowing what to screen for—and when—could change everything.

Dr. Leo Moore breaks down what we should be paying attention to, even when we feel perfectly fine.

He’s also the author of The Men’s Preventive Health Guide: What to Check, When to Check It and Why It Matters—a practical roadmap to preventive care, essential screenings, and taking charge of our health before something goes wrong.

Live Past 100, an initiative created by Dave Bridgeforth and Jussie Smollett, powered by @gileadsciences presents a three-part conversation exploring what it means to live longer, healthier, and more intentionally.

This is Part 1: The Body.

Early voting ✅️ 🗳️

I went straight to my vote center to cast my ballot in person. In this political climate, I wanted to see my ballot go in with my own eyes. That peace of mind mattered to me.

Your vote is your voice. Use it.

📍 LA County voters:
• Early voting at vote centers runs daily, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., through Monday, Nov. 2
• More vote centers open this weekend, with all locations open by Saturday, Oct. 31
• Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• You can vote at ANY vote center in the county
• Find one near you at locator.lavote.gov

If you can, vote early and complete or drop off your ballot in person. Skip the Election Day lines and know your vote is in.

Every goal has a day one.

Quick storytime: Back in 2006, I was a resident assistant in college, and one day I made a decision. I was going to start my fitness journey.

I walked into our RA meeting carrying a bag of carrots and fresh fruit and sat down next to another RA. She looked at my bag and asked what all of that was for. When I told her I was starting my fitness journey, she said, "You'll never lose weight."

I didn't argue with her. I just said to myself, "Don't believe me. Just watch."

The truth is, I knew nothing about exercise back then, and the gym intimidated me. I started with what I could do, which was cardio, and spent my free time researching weightlifting so I could learn as I went.

Six months later, I was down 40 pounds (picture 1).

That was 20 years ago, and I've stayed on this journey ever since. It hasn't been perfect. There have been ups and downs, days I ate more than I planned, weeks I missed workouts, and seasons when I lacked motivation or life got in the way.

Through all of it, my focus never changed: get stronger, get healthier, and get 1% better every day.

So if you fell off this week, this month, or even this year, remember that you can always bounce back. One bad meal doesn't erase your progress, and a few missed days in the gym don't end your journey. You also don't need to know everything to start. Consistency beats perfection every single time.

Your day one is waiting. Someone may doubt you along the way, so let them watch.

Twenty years later, I'm the proof. 💪🏾

✨ The Golden Hour ✨

It was a privilege to celebrate @truevolutioninc at this year's annual gala.

I had the honor of presenting the Community Legacy Award: Los Angeles to @garthdotgerald and the @amaad_institute. Gerald's leadership has shaped how so many of us serve our community, and this recognition is well deserved.

I was also humbled to witness several of my heroes being honored, including Tim Vincent of @brothersofthedesert and Jeff Crowley, former Director of the Office of National AIDS Policy and architect of the first National HIV/AIDS Strategy during the Obama administration.

I am proud to serve as Chief Health Strategist Consultant for TruEvolution. Together, we are preparing to launch the TruHealth & Wellness Clinic, which will provide HIV primary care, PrEP, sexual health services, gender-affirming care, and more to the Inland Empire and beyond.

TruEvolution also recently acquired a new 5-acre campus in Moreno Valley for transitional-aged youth. The organization continues to grow to meet the needs of the communities it serves.

During the gala, we raised over $23,000 to support TruEvolution's work. There is still time to contribute. Visit TruEvolution.org to learn more and donate.

TruEvolution is the future of whole-person care in this country, and I am honored to work alongside them. I am excited for what we will accomplish together in 2027.

Onward together, always 💛 by @drleomoore

Mudita. I learned this word a while back and it has stuck with me. It is Sanskrit for selfless joy, finding joy in the good things that happen to other people.

I felt every bit of it sitting in the audience at The Peterson Show. Two brothers I have known for many years, @itsdevererogers and @jstewiii, sharing one stage and doing what they were born to do.

LA, go see this show! The Peterson Show is running now at Atwater Village Theatre through October 26. Grab your tickets while you can. The show I attended featured an amazing talk back with Robin Thede, as well as the playwright Janine Nabers and director Michelle Bossy.

Not in LA? You can still show them love. Catch Devere in the new YouTube skitcom, I Swear We're Friends (it's hilarious), premiering October 14. Catch John in Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, P-Valley, and Brilliant Minds. ✨️ by @drleomoore

September 🚛

I had such an amazing time reconnecting with many of my favorite people. ✨️ by @drleomoore

Feeling full and grateful. 🙏🏾

This weekend I had the honor of sharing my expertise on prostate health at the YouGood? Men's Group, hosted by @walkgoodla in partnership with @_beamorg.

Much love to @walkgoodetienne, @yoloakili, and the entire WalkGoodLA and BEAM teams for creating a space where Black men can show up for themselves and each other.

To the men in the room who shared their stories, thank you. One brother, a prostate cancer survivor, opened up about his journey. His words showed every man there that you can survive and thrive after a diagnosis.

WalkGood and BEAM made sure every man walked away with a copy of my book, The Men's Preventive Health Guide. I watched brothers grab four and five copies. One listed the names of every man he planned to pass his books to. That's what community care looks like. It's exactly why I wrote the book.

So many guys came up afterward to thank me for the book and the conversation. The gratitude goes both ways. Educating men in community is part of my life's purpose. Moments like this remind me why.

A few key points:
Know your family history. Eat foods that support your prostate and overall health. Black men, 40 and up: ask your doctor about prostate cancer screening with a PSA blood test. Spread the word to the other men in your life. 💪🏾

The conversation our fathers didn’t have, we’re having it now.

September’s YouGood theme is Prostate Health & Proactive Care. Knowing your body early is how you stay good for yourself, your family, and your community.

Join us Sunday, September 27 at 11:30am for an open conversation and mental health workshop on prostate health with @drleomoore alongside @_beamorg and @yoloakili, yoga with @walkgoodetienne, a sound bath with @livepulsela, and food by @chefism.
