El Salvador 🇸🇻 was such an underrated country to visit!

Before coming here, I was honestly a little worried because of all the notorious things I had heard about the country. But I was pleasantly surprised by how warm, friendly, and welcoming the people were. ❤️

Known as a surf destination, the beaches were beautiful, with so many cute little shops, cafés, and restaurants—and everything was surprisingly affordable!

I would definitely come back to El Salvador again to explore all the places I missed this time. 🌴🏄‍♀️☀️

What a wonderful surprise this trip was! 🇸🇻❤️

What an incredible international debut for Kylie! 🇸🇻🇨🇦

Kylie (age 14) was one of the youngest fencers but yet, she finished 6th at the FIE Cadet World Cup in El Salvador, making the Top 8 among some of the world’s best U-17 fencers. 🌎🤺

She also had an amazing win over the #1-ranked Cadet fencer in the world, who is also ranked #7 in the Junior category.

The conditions were incredibly challenging, with no air conditioning at the venue and extremely hot, humid, and suffocating air.

She ultimately lost to her teammate, who went on to win 🥇 first place—making the result even more special for Team Canada. 🇨🇦

A huge thank you to Coach Vlada and the entire Team Canada 🇨🇦 for all the support and guidance!

What a week! Kylie fenced 5 events (Cadet, Junior, Div 1A, Div1 and Y14) at the USA Summer National Championships (world’s largest fencing competition) and she is officially done with her 2025-2026 season.

In Y14, she placed 13th out of 270 national fencers. Only 3 touches away from getting the National Medal and A26. She truly enjoyed fencing today as this was her very last Y14 tournament and we were all very happy.

This season has been officially ended. This season, she earned national points in Cadet and Junior, earned B26 (“renewed” 4 times) and she is officially taller than me!!!
Either she is growing or I am shrinking. 🤣

Thank you everyone for your support and love 💕

2026 Canadian National Championships 🇨🇦
Quebec City, Quebec

We spent some great time in Quebec this Weekend.
Before we came, Kylie had a couple of goals.
Top 4 in U-15, National points in Cadet and Junior.
Yet, she achieved beyond her goal.
Kylie got the Silver medal 🥈 in U-15, placed 14th and earned National points in both Cadet and Junior.

We also had a half day of exploring this beautiful Quebec City and of course, I had to take a picture in front of the Goblin Door 🚪(only Koreans will know).

Foodie heaven.
Lightening fast delivery food, fresh eels, fruits, bagels, Korean sashimi - everything tasted amazing. 🤤

Our Airbnb was in 석촌 and it was a great choice. Location was very convenient to most of the places that we wanted to go.

송리단길 is right next to 석촌호수 and they have trendy restaurants, bakeries and cute stores.

Korea Trip Day 1

The Cimer at Paradise City was a must-visit, featuring an impressive water park with two huge slides and a jjimjilbang.

Our next stop was the 'Inspire' LED show, which was amazing but unfortunately very short. We only spent less than an hour there since there wasn't much else to explore.

Korea Trip Day 0

First time flying Hawaiian Air! Overall, it was a solid experience, but there's room for improvement.

Pros:
- Love the adjustable dividers for privacy or a more social vibe.
- The cabin was super spacious, and the comforter was so nice. Laid down seats were great and big enough for my 6 feet tall husband.

Cons:
- Food could be better. It was just mediocre. But, late-night Ramen was a highlight - just ask for it!

Kylie’s first and last SYC medal is in the books! With a 🥉 finish out of 55 national fencers at the Super Youth Cup, she gained 136 national points and rose substantially in the Y14 National ranking. Great fencers came from all over the States and this was an “A2” rated event. Good job to everyone who fenced today! @raincityfencing @vladyhka21.05 @kylieee.younn by @drlewinayoun

Kylie achieved an amazing milestone yesterday! 🥳 She secured her first National medal, a bronze 🥉, in a highly competitive field of National fencers and earned B26 rating.

Kylie injured her wrist recently so she had to learn some new techniques to adapt. We were not sure if her wrist will be ready for this tournament yet.

Kylie’s day began with a tough start, ranking 42 after the preliminary pool rounds, but she didn’t let that hold her back. Kylie’s love for fencing and determination earned her a shiny hardware to bring back home, and I’m beyond proud of her! 💕

A huge shout out to Coach Vlada @vladyhka21.05 for your invaluable support and guidance - Kylie owes this achievement to you! 💕 You guys did it!!

Special thanks to Toby @toby_lee_wa and Erik @erikmedina_official for their unwavering support and advice.
