I attended a hearing on Capitol Hill today about the FDA's role in the obesity, diabetes and chronic disease epidemics. The senators seem to blame the FDA for permissive policies while not taking responsibility for failing to enact legislation to support FDA to hold corporations accountable for the changes needed. Congress needs to own up to their persistence in taking campaign funding from corporate lobbyists which I believe is the true and greatest barrier to enacting better food policy.

My other observation is these senators are focusing on minors not majors like discussing what words to use on milk.
