Special thanks to my coach and daughter, Astrid, for guiding me to a silver medal finish at World Masters Squash Tournament in Perth Australia last week! It was a week of lots of fun and some good come back wins. Thanks to my peeps for getting me prepared including Jon Stevenson and Herrick Roadies, Burnt Squash with Bobby, Abdul, Tayyab, and Shiraz, Harrow Sports and Dave for my racquets and gear, Pippa and Frances and Astrid and Maja for training with me, and Elin for making me laugh. I received so much support from friends and family texting me and it was super helpful. Already looking forward to South Africa event in two years to maybe improve my finish by one spot. by @drmartyclark

Last weekend I won the US Men’s 50+ in squash in NYC! Thanks to Harrow Sports, Herrick Roadies (training partners), my family, and all my hitting partners! Worlds in 4 months… by @drmartyclark

Wrapped up the 2024 Amsterdam World Masters a few days ago. Fifth place in this event is not bad for my first go at a major event in 25 years! Thanks to the tournament organizers and the World Squash Federation and Stade Frans Otten for such a great event. I loved Amsterdam and being able to be there with my daughter and coach Pippa. Thanks to my amazing wife Maja for supporting me by coming there for the quarters and the remainder of the event! Thanks to my fitness coach Jon Stevenson and the Herrick Roadies; my mental coach and training partner Alex Clonda, coach at Vassar; thanks to my strength specialist Harley; my girls Frances, Astrid, and Elin who cheered from home; my racquet sponsor Harrow Sports and Dave Rosen; Bobby Burns and Sandeep Ram for the training and coaching; Pippa for coaching me all tournament and being my flexibility specialist; Pyramid Squash for stringing and pre-event matches; Richard Chin for encouraging me to play the event; David Ramsden-Wood for cheeeing me on; Tim and Joe; all my work colleagues at Sharon Hospital and Nuvance for supporting me; all my extended family and friends and patients, especially in litchfield county CT; Copeland Rollins and Lakeville journal about the interest in this journey; and finally to all of my friends who reached out in support, it touched me profoundly. I will be doing this again…Brisbane Australia in two years, here we come! by @drmartyclark

Trying to turn back the clock…I upset the top seed at the Hyder Squash Tournament open division and am in the semis at 11am at Open Squash on Pearl Street tomorrow. Spectators welcome! Thanks to Ricardo at Paola’s in Carnegie Hill for the pasta re-load tonight.
