Histamine isn’t just about allergies, it’s systemic.

When your body can’t clear it, histamine builds up and shows up as gut issues, skin flares, anxiety, insomnia, bladder pain, and more.

This isn’t a histamine problem.

It’s a histamine overload.

Your bucket is full from stress, mold, gut imbalances, and sluggish detox pathways.

The goal isn’t to block histamine. It’s to get your system back in balance so it doesn’t overreact to everything.

Comment “EP53” and I’ll send you the full episode.

@drmegmill had a client who had seen seven different practitioners for her bloating. Before anything else, Meg had her try the 7 Second Switch: identify the thought underneath the thought, notice where you feel it in your body, and then ask yourself whether it’s actually true. Within three to four weeks, her bloating had eased.

On this episode of The Midlife Realignment Podcast, Dr. Meg and I talk about how stress and the stories we tell ourselves show up in our bodies, especially in our gut.

Nobody wakes up one day and randomly decides to become a health coach.

It builds quietly.

The late-night health research.
The friends who text you before they book another appointment.
The moment you realize you’re always connecting the dots.

If you saw yourself in 5 or more of these, that feeling isn’t random.

It might just be your calling.

💚 Comment “GROW” and I’ll send you my free guide with 25 Things Women Pay Health Coaches For.

You might be surprised by how many of them you’re already helping people with.

Are you dealing with anxiety, brain fog, fatigue, low mood, or stubborn sleep issues? 😣 You’re not alone — and it’s not because your body is missing a pharmaceutical. ❌

For many people, these symptoms trace back to nervous system dysregulation rooted in inflammation, sluggish mitochondria, gut imbalances, and low vagal tone.
When cytokines like IL-6 and TNF-alpha spike, they disrupt brain signaling — driving neuroinflammation, mood issues, and cognitive slowdown.

This is why, in my functional medicine practice, I focus on restoring the body’s actual operating system, not just chasing symptoms.
⚡️ I’m not anti-medication; I’m pro-root cause.

And as someone with methylation variants myself (yep, the anxious wiring is real), I lean on what works:
➡️ creatine (mood + cognition)
➡️ magnesium (nervous system balance)
➡️ vagal-tone reset techniques

One of the most powerful tools I teach — because it changed my own life — is structured breathwork. 🌬️

It taps into your most powerful healing tool… your breath.
Inside the free guide, you’ll learn the science, four simple techniques, how to activate instant calm, and how to release stored tension. 💛

It’s the same foundation I use for real, lasting change.

✨ Comment CALM if you want my personal go-to stack for nervous system support, what I use daily and what I recommend to my clients alongside breathwork for deep, lasting regulation.

⚠️ Histamine reactions are your body’s way of saying, “I don’t feel safe.”
Your mast cells flood your system with histamine to protect you.

But when that flood never stops, your body starts treating everything like a threat.
That’s when histamine intolerance symptoms can show up—headaches, hives, fatigue, gut issues, and more. 🤧😴

Histamine is a chemical messenger.
It opens up blood vessels, tightens your airways and gut, and ramps up mucus.
🦠🫁 Mast cells in your mucous membranes release histamine to fight infections and help regulate your organs.

Your body breaks down histamine using enzymes—mainly one called DAO (diamine oxidase).
🚫 If DAO is too low or sluggish, histamine builds up and causes problems.

And what can trigger this flood?
☣️ Mold, infections, long-term stress, poor nutrition, toxins, radiation, and more.

Comment LABS and I’ll send you more info on proper testing and how we can take a deeper look at what’s really going on. 🤎

“Normal” does not mean optimal.

Your bloodwork can fall inside the standard lab range and you can still have symptoms telling you that something isn’t right.

That’s because symptoms can show up before a marker falls outside the standard reference range.

I’m not just looking for whether your labs are “normal.” I’m looking at them through an optimal lens - looking at patterns, multiple markers together, and how your results correlate with what you’re actually experiencing.

Because the goal isn’t just to be normal.

The goal is to feel your best and thrive.

If you’re dealing with fatigue, digestive issues, hair loss, weight changes, sleep issues, headaches, hormonal symptoms, or inflammation - even when you’ve been told your labs are “fine” - there may be more to the story.

Comment LABS and I’ll send you my FREE Functional Lab Cheat Sheet to help you understand common lab markers and what they may reveal about your health!

For years you’ve been sold one measure of health: a smaller number on the scale. It was always the wrong one.

Because you can be skinny and exhausted.

Skinny and anxious about every meal.

Skinny and still winded on the stairs.

Getting smaller was never the same as getting healthier, and chasing it often makes the things that actually matter worse.

Think about how most women try to get skinny.

Barely eating, endless cardio, cutting everything out.

That leaves you tired, foggy, obsessed with food and slowly losing the muscle that keeps you strong.

Smaller on the outside, worse off everywhere that counts.

Real health shows up in ways the scale can’t see:

⚡ Energy that lasts the whole day, not a crash at 2pm.
😴 Waking up refreshed.
🧠 Not thinking about food from morning till night.
💪 Climbing the stairs, carrying the shopping and keeping up, without a second thought.
📸 Feeling good enough in your own skin to be in the photos instead of behind the camera.

Chase those instead.

And if you’re still dealing with fatigue, bloating, brain fog or other symptoms despite doing everything right, it’s time to start asking WHY.

Because symptoms aren’t random inconveniences to ignore. They’re clues worth investigating, and understanding how they may connect can help you figure out where to start.

👇 Comment DECODE and I’ll send you my FREE Symptom Decoder, designed to help aspiring women’s functional health coaches connect the dots between common symptoms and potential underlying patterns.

Your negative thoughts are not just in your head. Your body hears every one and it changes how you digest, absorb, and heal. 👇 Comment BRAIN and I’ll send you my latest #Alittlebithealthier podcast.

My book, The 7-Second Switch, is finally out. This episode is the idea at the heart of it, and why I spent two years writing it for you.

You’ll learn why your brain holds on to old negative thought patterns even when they keep you stuck, how one thought about a lemon changes your body, and what neurodigestion means for your stomach acid, enzymes, and nutrient absorption.

I also share the 7-second tool I use myself, why your nervous system has to come first before digestion, metabolism, and hormones, and why stacking more health habits or jumping into a detox can leave you feeling worse.

If you keep doing everything right and still feel stuck, start with the thought beneath the thought.

“Your labs are normal” should not be the end of the conversation.

Normal compared to who?

A reference range is not the same thing as optimal health.

Your symptoms, goals, age, hormones, inflammation, and long-term risk all matter.

By the time something is flagged as “abnormal,” dysfunction has often been present for years.

If you’re ready to understand your labs through a functional lens, here’s where to start 👇
