🕊️🫀MY SHEN IS BACK! (last seen when I was 18 absolutely devastated having unexpectedly gained entry to Medical School)
✨The genius that is @w.h.chong 2025 who saw through my masks to the self I had been trying to find again
😱 Initially I told him I looked like The Scream , but just 2days ago I finally recognised myself

🌸 BEST THING ABOUT MEDICINE? THE PATIENTS!!
WORST THING ABOUT MEDICINE? MEDICINE!!

🌸 BEST gift from being a Complex Chronic Disease Doctor?
🌸YOU, the patients 💖💯

🌸Thank you for trusting me with your stories and letting me into your lives. You have touched my heart & given me so much wisdom. I will NEVER forget you & remain eternally grateful

🌸Being a doctor was NEVER AN EASY PATH FOR ME, for many reasons but I am so grateful to each of you, your trust, your stories ..what a privilege. You have taught me so much and my life has been so much richer for having walked this path. I am a much kinder , wiser person for these learnings.

🌸 My contribution to the field has been that of a musician trying to find her place in Medicine. Bringing the discipline & structure of Science, a musician’s lateral thinking to solve “unexplained illnesses”, coupled with the sensitivity/empathy of a violinist .

🌸It is, however, time to return to my roots as a violinist/artist. Life is short, this is something I MUST do.

🤦🏼‍♀️ For those who think qualifications matter:
💁🏼‍♀️ MBBS (1987) FRACGP FACNEM AFMCP
FMusA (1999) MMus Perf (Dist)2000s

1981 Medicine
1996 Music & Medicine
2002 Medicine 💯 dedicated
2026 Music/Creative Artist #wip

FEELING ALL THE FEELS
🎻 I never expected to be hit so hard by the trailer of @violinistmovie having only heard of its existence 3days ago (by my Yeo cousin). I hope to be able to watch the full movie one day
🎻 Feeling all the feels for my Gran (wife of war hero Lim Bo Seng) who regaled the young Min with her story daily. So I just had to play the poignant theme “Sunset Sonata” by Ricky Ho for her during a late night practice a couple of days ago

Imagine being on the run from the Japanese Secret Police as a marked family with 7 young children in tow. How much courage, resourcefulness & brains would that have taken?!
Witnessing atrocities in the streets that will haunt you for the rest of your life Where on your deathbed saying “run, run we’ve got to run !!!”

Thank you for being my safe adult who had my back & tried to protect me

Gran promised to look out for all of her family even when she passed “I can come & warn you when to run when there is a war! “

🙏thank you Gran for everything
