Post Grad School – Now the real journey begins.

Landing my dream job in my field.
As someone with extensive experience and a passion for healthcare, I'm not exactly sure what that looks like yet.

However, I trust that God will guide my path.

Reflecting on my past achievements and considering all that I will accomplish with my doctorate in nursing, I am truly excited and ready for what lies ahead.

Common struggle nurses face when using SBAR communication, especially when the provider asks for recommendations after you’ve given the situation, background, and assessment.

SBAR Communication Notebook—
75 nurse note templates to help organize patient reports, including details like allergies, IV access, wounds, and recommendations for consults, diagnostics, labs, and PRN medications.

I highly recommend it for better organization and confidence in SBAR.

Why Nurses Should Stop Apologizing When
Calling Providers
•
Starting a call to a healthcare provider with an apology can undermine a nurse’s judgment and make them appear less contident.

I share my own experience as a new nurse who› used to apologize for calling, thinking it would build rapport, but learned from a provider that it’s unnecessary unless it’s a repeated call about the same issue.

If the call is about a patient’s change in status, it’s a valid reason and no apology is needed.

🎀 Pink with a purpose.

This October, I’m wearing Cosmic Pink from @fableticsscrubs in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

But beyond the pink, let’s remember what it represents—awareness, education, early detection, and support for everyone impacted by breast cancer. 💗

Know your body. Stay informed. Keep up with your recommended screenings. 🎀

Total transparency: I published a book without expecting many sales.

I didn't realize it would evolve into what it is now, and I am still learning about the business— consistency, discipline, and faithfulness to the journey.

But imagine if I never started.

“Un poquito” has carried me long enough 😂🇪🇸

Time to learn the Spanish we’ll ACTUALLY use. Come learn with me—one phrase at a time!

¿Qué palabra o frase should we learn next? 👀

It’s National Advance Practice Provider Week 9/21-9/25/26.

I started my healthcare journey as a CNA not sure if I wanted to be a Physical Therapist or Nurse. My decision got easier when I met this Nurse Practitioner (who I later ran into as a travel ED RN)

4 years as a CNA I decided to go to RN school. I got accepted knowing I wanted to be a NP. (ADN—> BSN (Honors)—>MSN (AGNP-BC—> 2026: Dr. Najah Goodman, DNP)

Today I’m practicing as a Nurse Practitioner, using all my skills gathered over 16 years in healthcare. I love being bedside and sitting with patients being able to hear them out, laugh with them, pray with them, even speak Spanish (I’m getting better daily) and truly diversity in healthcare matters so much. I’m thankful and excited for the more that is to come.
Thank you Jesus
