Humpback Whale Near Hit! Today I have a very short window due to the rain. Was waiting for these 2 guys to surface, and fortunately, at this moment, they hadn’t. I didn’t know the boat was coming until it was in the frame. Luckily, they were both unharmed and can continue their journey. Not everyday you find a humpback whale in the shallows around Perth metro 😬I headed to port beach in the search for the GW that was sighted earlier in the morning, but wasn’t to be seen. Fortunately the short trip wasn’t wasted when this young humpback appeared in the shallows heading close to the shore. 😍 #whale #humpback #perth #australia #explore by @drone_shot_scott

Cool capture this morning with this little humpback in close around the docks. The crew working on the dock probably have no idea that this incredible creature is just meters away from them. This guy, you could see feeding close to the shallows and appears to have been in the bay for nearly a couple of weeks now. #humpbackwhale #perth #australia #explore #drone by @drone_shot_scott

After many comments and messages, here is another shot of the humpback whale sighted in close to the shore along a Fremantle beach in Perth. Initially, I hadn’t noticed the curve in the spine until I came over the top here. Potentially mild scoliosis has been suggested. I can’t see any injury to suggest it had been in an incident that’s too obvious. But if you check the dorsal ridge, possibly a small tear? It doesn’t appear to be bothered, seems healthy and mobile if anything. Who knows, it may appear on our coastline again when it makes the return on its southern migration or in other years to come. 🤞#humpbackwhale #perth #australia #explore #ocean by @drone_shot_scott

First little humpback for me this season, and only a short distance from home to travel. You’d think a young humpback like this one, would still have its mum alongside of it, but appears not, and no where to be seen. This one’s been gently cruising between north and south of the same stretch of beaches for a couple of days, maybe confused or lost not knowing where to head next. Hopefully moves on and finds some others to head north with soon 🤞#humpbackwhale #whale #australia #explore #travel by @drone_shot_scott

Southern Right Whale! A trip south of Perth and onto my first whale of the season (thanks to a tip off) otherwise, I wouldn’t have headed out to Peel-Harvey estuary. After seeing a couple of SRW and calf’s last year, super close to the shoreline in Perth, I couldn’t wait to see more. Port beach on a winters day 😎 So many dolphins around at the moment, and when the conditions are like this, sun up and wind down they’re too easy to spot. With winter around the corner, we’re a season closer to witnessing the blue whale migration along the west coast of Australia again. Last year we were lucky to see a few pairs of blues close together and really not far offshore. Humpbacks and blue have already been sighted further south of Perth so maybe the season is closer than we think! It really is an amazing sight seeing these from a drone perspective. More dolphins 🫠The last few days, conditions on the west coast have been great for flying the drone. It’s always calm conditions like this, I hope to find a shark as I don’t find myself in glassy conditions to capture one. And I’m still not finding one 😅This clip looks like it’s been slowed down, but it’s not. There were 13 dolphins around these 2 and everything was super slow. Almost like the calm before a storm. Never fail to find dolphins on a short trip south to Rockingham. If all else fails, you’re sure to find a pod of these guys cruising over the reefs or coming in close to the beach. It’s not too often I come across a pod with this number of dolphins. Usually smaller. Makes spotting them a whole lot easier 😎#australia #perth #explore #drone #dji by @drone_shot_scott
