Checked out the grand opening of 28th Street Vintage on the corner of 28th & Bloomington in Minneapolis, and it's packed with vintage Harley shirts, '90s and Y2K band tees, leather jackets, and all kinds of nostalgic finds.

I definitely spotted a few band tees I used to own... and now I'm kicking myself for ever getting rid of them.

Still recovering from a rowdy weekend in Hager City, Wisconsin, for @full_tilt_boogie_ camping, motorcycles, custom vans, live music, drag races, questionable camping decisions, and a hot dog challenge. When I heard @chucktingle was coming to the @theparkwaympls , there was absolutely no chance I was missing it.

Thanks to @magersandquinn for bringing one of the most unique authors working today to Minneapolis. We picked up signed copies of Fabulous Bodies, laughed the entire night, and left with a reminder that horror, comedy, and optimism can all exist in the same room.

Whether you know Chuck Tingle from Camp Damascus, Lucky Day, or... let's just say his extensive catalog of "Pounded in the Butt" literature, he's an incredible live speaker. Funny, heartfelt, and the kind of author event that reminds you why independent bookstores matter.

If the Chuck Tingle book tour is coming to your city, go. If not, grab Fabulous Bodies from your local independent bookstore and support the people keeping book culture alive.

Spent the 4th of July at the Main Cinema for their Midnight Mayhem series, and really... I can't think of a more fitting holiday movie than Uncle Sam.

Started the night with a Lone Star and a quesadilla at Lonely's Bar, caught fireworks over the Mississippi River, then headed inside for a gloriously campy slasher packed with blood, ridiculous kills, and plenty of laughs.

If you're looking for unique things to do in Minneapolis, the Main Cinema at St. Anthony Main is a top tier spot. The MSP Film Society consistently puts together fantastic programming, from cult classics and horror movies to independent films you won't find at your average multiplex.

I finally made it out to Top the Tater Days in Farmington, Minnesota.

Only in Minnesota can you spend an afternoon posing inside a giant tub of sour cream, watching a competitive chip dipping contest, grabbing free Top the Tater, eating mini donuts, and meeting a horse named Cola... all at the same festival.

This is exactly the kind of quirky small town Minnesota event I love finding. If you're looking for fun summer festivals near the Twin Cities, put this one on your list for next year.

Before streets were for cars, they were for people.

Open Streets Minneapolis hosted by @ourstreetsmn gives us a glimpse of what a more walkable, connected city can feel like. This weekend, Lake & Lyndale was packed with local businesses, food, music, wrestling, basketball, and thousands of neighbors enjoying one of the best community events in Minneapolis.

In one small block we had BASE-ketball at @beckettsmpls , entertainment from @f1rstwrestling , grabbing a Grape Ape at @wrecktanglepizzamn to checking out the latest @smittenkittenmn merch, it was a perfect reminder of why supporting local businesses matters.

Do I wish Open Streets happened every day? Absolutely. But I'll take one day over no days any day of the week. Events like this make Minneapolis feel a little smaller, friendlier, and a lot more connected.
