Update:

The surgery took longer than expected due to some complications, but thankfully, they managed to complete it successfully.

It’s truly heartwarming to see all the messages, love, and support from everyone. It means more than I can put into words.

Thank you all so much. ❤️

Now it’s time to focus on recovery. 🙏 by @drphunkmusic

A personal update: why I’ve been quiet and what’s next.

Many of you probably wonder why I’ve been so quiet. The truth is that I’ve been dealing with serious health issues for quite a while.

After a severe physical burnout in 2024, things seemed to stabilize. But on December 24th, 2025, I ended up in the ER after hours of excruciating abdominal pain, vomiting and cold sweats. I needed morphine just to ease the pain. An ultrasound revealed the cause: gallstones.

Almost 10 months later, I’ve lost 23 kg because I can hardly eat anything containing fat without risking another attack. The extremely strict diet, lack of nutrients and energy, and constant risk of sudden attacks have made traveling and touring impossible for the time being.

Doctors believe years of stress from my lifestyle as a world-touring DJ may have contributed. 20 years of heavy schedules, jet lag, flights and constantly being away from home eventually take their toll.

Being forced to slow down also made me realize how much the music industry has changed. Quality often seems replaced by quantity, while social media relevance, virality, image and hype have become more important than artistry, experience and longevity.

And I have to admit: a lot of music simply doesn’t move me anymore. I can browse playlists without remembering a single track afterwards. Music is consumed so quickly now—something different every day before moving on to the next thing.

I miss having posters of artists on our walls, buying CDs and vinyl, waiting for releases and having records that stayed with us for years. I miss that connection. The excitement. The purity of it all.

This isn’t a hate post. Everyone is free to create and stand for what they believe in. And despite everything, one thing hasn’t changed: I still love making music.

On September 29, I’ll finally undergo surgery to remove my gallbladder. Hopefully, I can finally recover, regain my strength and slowly get back to doing what I love.

For now, health comes first.

I’ll keep you posted. ❤️ by @drphunkmusic
