A beautiful smile is not simply about having straight, white teeth. It is about having a healthy mouth that supports your overall health, confidence and quality of life.

I’m honoured to be featured in Pecks Magazine, where I had the opportunity to discuss “The Power of a Healthy Smile: Why Your Teeth Matter More Than You Think.”

As a dentist, one of the things I constantly remind my patients is that aesthetic dentistry should never replace oral health. You can have the most beautiful smile and still have underlying dental problems if you neglect the basics.

Your mouth can tell you a lot.

🦷 Persistent bad breath may deserve more than another bottle of mouthwash.
🦷 Bleeding gums are not something you should simply accept as “normal.”
🦷 Tooth sensitivity can have several causes and shouldn’t always be managed by avoiding cold drinks.
🦷 Cavities can progress silently before pain becomes obvious.
🦷 And regular dental check-ups allow us to identify problems early, often before they become more complex and expensive to treat.

And here’s something I wish more people understood. you don’t have to wait until something hurts before seeing your dentist.

Prevention is part of good dentistry.

Your toothbrush, toothpaste and floss are important. But they are only part of the picture. Your diet, oral hygiene habits, previous dental history, gum health, bite, lifestyle and regular professional assessments all play a role in maintaining a healthy smile.

And yes, your smile matters aesthetically too. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting straighter, brighter or more harmonious teeth. But the best aesthetic transformation is one built on a healthy foundation.

So, let me ask you:

When was your last dental check-up? not because something was hurting, but simply because it was time to have your teeth and gums assessed?

And be honest…

Giving back never felt better!

On May 1st, our team at joined @cci_ikeja Legacy Outreach for a cell church. Serving the community means showing up with our best. 💜

The outreach included clothing, food distribution, a full healthcare pharmacy station and workshops including a mold-making workshop for art displays.

Got to connect with fellow dental professionals too, familiar faces and new ones. 🦷🤝

As I attend the second edition of @ceosroundtable today, I can’t help but think back to the first edition earlier this year.

We had an engaging conversation around Making It Big by @femiotedola a book filled with lessons on vision, resilience, business, and leadership.

Beyond the book, what stood out most was the room itself. Ambitious women, founders, leaders, and professionals coming together to learn, share ideas, and challenge one another. Those are the kinds of spaces that inspire growth.

Thank you @drcherryentafield for creating such an intentional community where learning meets meaningful conversation, good food and genuine connection.

There are so many dental myths floating around, and believing them could actually harm your oral health.

Here’s the truth:
🪥 Bleeding gums don’t mean you should stop flossing.
🦷 Brushing harder doesn’t clean better.
😁 White teeth don’t always mean healthy teeth.
🍞 Sugar isn’t the only cause of cavities.
🫧 Mouthwash isn’t meant to replace your toothpaste and timing matters!

Spent the weekend in Ibadan doing what I love most…serving humanity through Rotary. ❤️

The weekend ended with the District Installation. and of course, I had to show up in my baby pink outfit 💗 Life is all about balance for me. I work hard, I serve wholeheartedly, and I never miss an opportunity to enjoy the moment.
