A week later and I’m finally getting around to sharing these beautiful moments, the culmination of:4 years of college1 year post-bacc program 4 years of medical school (with a few unexpected pauses along the way)& 3 years of pediatric residencyWhat a journey it has been!! One that stretched me, humbled me, and taught me deeper dependence on the Lord. A journey that reminded me I was never meant to walk this road alone. Thank you Jesus!To my village and mentors: I truly could never repay you even though I try lol. Your prayers, sacrifices, encouragement, and love carried me more than you know. To the many people God placed in my life along the way even for a season, thank you!! To my husband and my daughter—thank you for being my joy, my peace, and my greatest support. Your love gave me strength on the hardest days and made the best days even sweeter.To my incredible residency class: Congratulations!! I’m so honored to have shared this season with you all. To the faculty and ancillary staff: your support meant the world!To anyone chasing a dream that feels bigger than them: keep going. The road may not look how you imagined, and there may be moments you question whether you’re capable—but you are. Give yourself grace, keep showing up, and trust that the same God who placed the dream in your heart can guide you through the process.Last but not least! Lord, I am grateful. Happy birthday to me 💜If you’ve been walking with me for a while, you know that each year my family and I prayerfully choose an Anchor Word—a word that keeps us grounded, focused, and moving in obedience for the year ahead.This year, our anchor word is ABUNDANT OVERFLOW… and the overflow has already begun.Thank you for every prayer, every call, every text, and every message. It is discerned slowly — through prayer, fasting, and a heart surrendered to God — then rooted in scripture. Whether your word is clear or still unfolding, slow down. Pause. Breathe. Sit in His presence and keep returning to the Word. Clarity is found in His presence. PGY-2. Fini. Finito. Done. ✅This year was hard! I rotated at one of the best hospitals in the nation (St. Jude!) but back-to-back months of nights, NICU, inpatient and PICU will make you question everything. Nevertheless, I found a rewarding joy in the midst of it all—the kind that grounds you and reminds you exactly why I said YES to this calling of becoming a pediatrician! The greatest joy (and peace!) came when I became a mom though. Quietly, humbly, beautifully. As I cared for my little one, I continued to pour into the young lives entrusted to me. It wasn’t easy—but it’s been so so worth it.Endless gratitude to my Savior for keeping me, to my amazing family for holding me down, and to my co-residents for walking this road beside me.This year was long, hard, marathon but by the grace of God, we did it! Glory be to God!! PGY-1 is officially in the books. Providing care for the kiddos and their families has been incredibly fulfilling on this journey!
