I am overwhelmed with gratitude and joy as I reflect on my journey through the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program—an experience that has truly transformed my mindset, my business, and my future.

What started as a chance to sharpen my business strategies became a life-changing experience. Thanks to the visionary leadership of Goldman Sachs, the world-class curriculum delivered by Babson College, and the exceptional support from Dallas College, I was stretched, challenged, and inspired on every level.

To the outstanding faculty and advisors—thank you for your wisdom, encouragement, and commitment to excellence. You poured into us week after week, helping us dig deeper, think smarter, and lead stronger. Your passion made every session impactful.

To the entire Goldman Sachs team—thank you for believing in small businesses and investing in the heart of communities. Your commitment to inclusion, innovation, and growth is changing lives—and I’m living proof.

To Dallas College—your professionalism, coordination, and heart made this experience seamless and meaningful. Every detail was handled with care, and your encouragement meant the world.

And to my Cohort 31 family—40 of the most brilliant, resilient, and purpose-driven entrepreneurs I’ve ever met—thank you. You inspired me, challenged me, supported me, and reminded me why we do this work. You are more than classmates—you are collaborators, colleagues, and friends for life.

I walk away from this program not just with business tools, but with renewed purpose, powerful insights, and a community I can always count on.

This is just the beginning. I’m proud to be a Goldman Sachs 10KSB Alumni. The future is bright—and we’re building it together.

Recently, I had the opportunity to minister at a women’s conference inside the prison walls. Reflecting on my own story, I realized that I could have easily ended up in a similar situation, having gone through domestic violence myself. However, I am deeply grateful and thankful that God chose me to break free from those chains and help others do the same, both inside and outside the prison.

Isaiah 61:1 says, "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners."

This scripture resonates deeply with my experience. Despite the hardships, God’s grace has empowered me to transform my pain into purpose. Sharing my story with the women in prison, I witnessed firsthand how God can use our testimonies to bring hope and healing. It is a blessing to be chosen to proclaim freedom and to help others find their path to liberation.

No matter what challenges you face, remember that God can turn your trials into a testimony. He can use your story to bring light to others, just as He did with mine.

Thank you Elizabeth Navarrete Savage. ❤️ We have work to do! Tiffany Mahon

WE HAD BROKEN UP. BUT THAT DID NOT MEAN I WAS SAFE. 💜

I had been with my college boyfriend for five years. He was a “big baller” on campus, and at one point, I thought he was the man I would marry.

But we had broken up. I had graduated from college, started working, and was trying to move forward. We had gone our separate ways, but he still came around. I guess he had finally decided he wanted to be with me.

One day, while my parents were out of town, he came by, and I let him in.

He said, “If I can’t have you, nobody will.” Then he put his fist through my mother’s wall.

After that incident, he began stalking me—showing up at places where I was—to the point that I was afraid. Eventually, I moved to Texas, trying to get somewhere safe.

During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I’m sharing this because someone needs to hear: your fear deserves to be taken seriously. A shared history does not give anyone the right to threaten your life. Letting someone in does not make you responsible for their violence.

If you feel unsafe, reach out—even if you are unsure what to call what you’re experiencing. The abuse is not your fault. You do not have to figure out your next steps alone.

💜 For confidential support and safety planning, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233, text START to 88788, or visit TheHotline.org. You can also contact a local domestic violence shelter or advocate. In immediate danger, call 911 if you can safely do so.

PLEASE DON’T LET THE DESIRE TO BE LOVED SILENCE WHAT YOU SEE AND EXPERIENCE. 💜💜💜

“You don’t need anybody else but me” can sound romantic—until it becomes pressure to disconnect from everyone who loves and supports you.

Your world should not have to get smaller to keep someone in it.

💜My conversation with Laterras R. Whitfield on the Dear Future Wifey Podcast was one of my most liberating interviews. During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I’m sharing moments from that conversation to help someone recognize the signs and know they are not alone.

As a survivor, let me be clear: take the warning signs seriously. You deserve safety, dignity, and love that respects your boundaries. If you are experiencing abuse, it is NOT your fault. 💜

Follow along throughout October, and share this with care. Someone may need these words today.

THE HEADLINE IS OFTEN THE LAST CHAPTER. BUT WHAT WERE THE WARNING SIGNS BEFORE THE STORY BECAME NEWS?

By the time domestic violence becomes a national headline, there is often a much longer story the public never sees.

The fear. The isolation. The intimidation. The gradual loss of freedom.

I know something about that story because I have lived it.

As a survivor of domestic violence, this conversation is more than professional. It is deeply personal.

After years of writing, speaking, and advocating, one truth remains clear:

WE CANNOT PREVENT WHAT WE REFUSE TO RECOGNIZE.

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I am honored to share my latest article, “The Headline Is Typically the End of the Story,” published in the October 2026 edition of Southern Dallas Business & Living Magazine.

Abuse doesn't always look the way we expect. Sometimes the warning signs are not visible injuries but the gradual disappearance of someone's confidence, independence, relationships, and freedom.

And sometimes people become so accustomed to surviving that others never recognize their struggle.

Awareness must become understanding. Understanding must lead to action.

So here's my challenge:

Don't simply read another headline and ask, “How did this happen?”

Start asking, “What are we overlooking before it happens?”

Please read my article in Southern Dallas Business & Living Magazine. The magazine is available throughout the city and at Barnes & Noble. You can also visit the Southern Dallas Business & Living Magazine website, which I will be sharing on my page soon. Share it. Start the conversation. Someone may need this message more than you realize.

💜 READ THE FULL ARTICLE IN SOUTHERN DALLAS BUSINESS & LIVING MAGAZINE.

My sincere appreciation to Southern Dallas Business & Living Magazine, its publisher, and editorial team for providing a platform for conversations that matter.

I was carrying her while God was carrying me.

October causes me to reflect differently.

There was a season when my sister was facing cancer, and I stepped into the role of caregiver. What amazes me now is that I was going through one of the most difficult seasons of my own life at the same time.

I almost forgot that part of my story.

I didn't call myself a caregiver. I wasn't thinking about whether I was strong enough. Someone I loved needed care, support, presence and consistency...and I did what was required.

Looking back, I realize something:

Sometimes you don't recognize God's strength in you until you look back at what He enabled you to carry.

Scripture tells us to carry one another's burdens. It reminds us that God does not forget the love we demonstrate when we serve others. And Proverbs 11:25 gives us this beautiful principle: when we refresh others, we too are refreshed.

We were never designed to live life completely independent of one another.

Sometimes you will be the one who needs strength.

Sometimes you will be the one God uses to provide it.

And sometimes, remarkably, you will be both at the same time.

This Pink October, I honor the women fighting, the survivors, those we remember, and the caregivers whose names may never appear in the story...but whose love helped carry someone through it.

And to the caregiver who is tired: remember that caring for yourself matters too. Allow someone to help carry you.

Who might need your presence - not your perfection - in this season?

Being needed can feel a lot like being valued. But they are not the same thing.

Sometimes people stay close because you are dependable.

You solve problems.
You make things easier.
You know what to say.
You show up.
You carry more than your share.

And there is nothing wrong with being dependable.

The problem comes when your usefulness becomes the foundation of the relationship.

Being needed is often about what you do.

Being valued is about how you are regarded even when you are not doing something for someone.

That distinction matters.

Pay attention to who checks on you when they do not need anything. Who respects your boundaries when you are unavailable.

Who is still interested in you when you are not solving, fixing, giving, or carrying.

The Standard asks:
If I stopped solving, giving, fixing, or always being available, what would still remain in this relationship?

That answer may tell you more than you expected.

FINALLY HOME at Rachel’s House is officially open. 💜

What we celebrated was more than a ribbon cutting. It was the result of vision, partnership, generosity, hard work, and a community that believes young women aging out of foster care deserve more than a place to stay.
They deserve safety. Stability. Opportunity. Support. And a place that finally feels like home.

Thank you to every partner, donor, volunteer, community leader, friend, and supporter who helped us reach this milestone.

The Open House may be over, but the work is just beginning.

We fill the gap.

Adulthood should never begin with abandonment.

Let them have their conclusion.

People will make decisions about who you are based on what they know about your past — and what they think they can see in your present.

But their conclusion does not have to become the reason you stop, shrink, or change direction.

Learn from your past.
Be honest about your present.
Then make your next decision based on where you are going.

The Standard asks:
Have I allowed someone else’s conclusion about me to cause me to change direction in my own life?

Read that again.
