Yesterday I had the chance to join the @skiftnews Global Forum, and the energy around the future of travel and tech was incredible!

Hearing from leaders like Dara Khosrowshahi (Uber), Bret Taylor (Sierra & OpenAI), and Glenn Fogel (Booking Holdings) made one thing clear: AI agents are officially becoming the digital front door for customer experience. Always on, multilingual, and built to remove friction at scale.

We also dove into the road ahead for autonomous vehicles with players like Waymo, Tesla, and NVIDIA, the critical work around AI model alignment, and why AI will shift human roles rather than replace them (think ATMs and bank tellers).

At the end of the day, as long as we keep delivering real value to the customer, the future is bright. Exciting times ahead! 🚀🤖✈️

Apply to Become a Student Ambassador at @arivaltravel 360 Conference 2026 in Spokane, Washington!

The @nyutischcenter is seeking four ambitious and organized student ambassadors. The Student Ambassador program is a unique opportunity for students to work at the Destination Experience industry’s premier conference, collaborating with hundreds of creators of tours, activities, attractions & experiences. You will contribute as an enthusiastic, all-hands-on-deck volunteer working closely with the Arival team to ensure a successful event.

Accommodation will be provided for 5 nights, October 11th-16th. However, you are responsible for your own transportation and meals (that aren't included with the event). Dr. Richie Karaburun will also attend the Arival 360 Conference with the Student Ambassadors, and participate as a speaker.

Student Ambassadors will be paid $20/hour for their work at the Arival 360 Conference, and therefore must be eligible to work in the United States.

Last week, @nyutischcenter Professors @drrichiek and Jason Shames led another successful @hyatt + @nyusps Digital Foundations class in Chicago!

Over two days, 40+ Hyatt executives explored AI, digital strategy, and how hotel leaders can drive direct digital business while strengthening their digital presence.

Now in its 4th consecutive year, this collaboration continues to bring together energy, curiosity, and a shared commitment to learning.

As @drrichiek shared: “AI can amplify our capabilities, but the real power comes from combining technology with human judgment, creativity, empathy, and experience.”

Albert Einstein famously said, “Once you stop learning, you start dying.”

Currently at Harvard taking the “Teaching with AI” course, and that quote keeps ringing in my head.

Learning is not just about getting quick answers. It is an active, biological process. When we struggle through a difficult concept or solve a complex problem, our minds adapt and grow.

The real challenge with AI in education isn’t about shortcutting work. It is making sure we do not offload the very friction that creates true understanding. If an algorithm does all the heavy lifting, we risk losing the curiosity that keeps our minds alive.

AI should not be used to bypass learning. It should be used to deepen it.
