We upcycle retro video game consoles into fully playable psychedelic video art synthesizers!

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Behold: My own custom circuit-bent PS2s created by @drugstm_ ! They even have custom skull knobs! Aside from the beautiful craftsmanship, they are incredibly powerful glitch instruments which bend the games themselves (not the video output signal) in real-time, glitching the polygons and textures to completely deconstruct the visuals from within.

@drugstm_ came out to my cyber cave last week (with @operon_pathos & @goose4gold ) to help me wrap my head around a new dimension of video art, and a new way of experiencing video games. He also showed me some early custom software that opens up a whole new world of possibilities.

As I work on my upcoming glitch art book, it’s exciting to meet more artists & makers from the glitch / experimental media community and expand my creative toolkit with more artisanal gear. I’ll have a lot more to share of what the circuit-bent PS2 can do, but for now feast upon some glamor shots. Thanks so much to @drugstm_ and his team who worked on these, I’m blown away!
