Why we must reject White Christian Nationalism!

My November 4th rally speech across from the Capitol building denouncing the curroption of Christianity, democracy, and justice, by White Christian Nationalism. This was part of @powerinterfaith's state wide anti white Christian nationalism freedom express bus tour. Proud of all of the faith leaders we were able to organize together to speak up on these urgent matters. taken in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania by @druhart

On my way home. Bethany Seminary has big news to share. It is no longer dependent on federal funds for all students. .. And that is coupled with the previous news that all Church of the Brethren students can attend Bethany Seminary with their tuition completely covered. They are not done but I'm proud of the moves we have made that care for the financial wellbeing of students and that make theological education accessible for everyone. Anyway, looking forward to getting home and back to teaching in the morning at Messiah University.

On my way to Richmond, Indiana for Bethany Seminary Fall board Trustees meetings this weekend. They are leaning into theological education for the 21st century. Looking forward to our important conversations and decisions over the next couple of days. by @druhart

What if the Passover lamb was never meant to protect us from an angry God, but to inaugurate a liberation starting with a celebrative meal? Join me tomorrow morning at Harrisburg First Church of the Brethren,in Harrisburg, PA, as I preach this week's lectionary text (Exodus 12:1–14) with some echoes from the scholarship of Andrew Rillera’s The Lamb of the Free. Service starts at 10am. by @druhart

Is the Bible even relevant anymore? 👀

In our August class, Drew G. I. Hart (@druhart) argues that if we’re looking for a rulebook, the answer is clearly no. But if we’re willing to read scripture as a living conversation of wisdom and inspiration that bends toward justice, liberation, and shalom, then the Bible becomes extremely relevant.

Many of us grew up being told the Bible had an answer for every moral dilemma, every political debate, every life decision. When we discovered it didn’t work that way, we were left wondering: Is the Bible even relevant anymore?

A powerful challenge from Dr. @druhart on how our Christian imagination gets shaped by various cultural forces and political ideologies. This pod (releasing today, finally!) is like a college course wrapped up in one interview. by @druhart

If you’re a Christian, why wouldn’t you want a “Christian government”? @druhart with a strong challenge. Excited to share this entire convo, which is a historical overview of how the Black and Anabaptist Church traditions can challenge us today 🙏 by @druhart
