✅Graduated @rutgersnewarkofficial 4.0 Summa Cumme Laude with a degree in Spanish language, Latin American Studies, and Latina(o) Studies
✅ Inducted into the nation’s most prestigious and selective honor society, Phi Beta Kappa, as well as Sigma Delta Pi Hispanic Honors Society, and Tau Sigma Honors Society
✅ Earned awards for my academic dedication that attest to my love for Latino Studies and academia including the award for Outstanding Achievement in Spanish and Hispanic Civilization and the Tau Sigma award for transfer students with the highest GPAs
✅ Founded @laa.run as President with an amazing team of student leaders; a social justice-based organization that creates a safe and inclusive space to discuss our experiences navigating first-generation student/immigrant identities, what it means to hold an ethnic, regional, or national affiliation, dispelling the expectations of what Latinos are “supposed to” look like, breaking down the “macho” tropes in a heavily patriarchal society, and more
✅ Had the incredibly fulfilling opportunity to welcome new students into Rutgers Newark and guide them through the admissions and enrollment process as a Scarlet Ambassador with my @runadmissions family with two promotions: as Scarlet Ambassador Captain, then as Scarlet Ambassador Manager
✅ Continued expressing my love for the student body of Rutgers Newark as an Orientation Leader, soon receiving a promotion to Senior Orientation Leader
✅ Helped to organize and execute several Latino identity and Spanish language based conferences and events including the Latinx LEADS conference, the Spanish and Portuguese Language Day Celebration, the SOMOS Poetry Festival, and more
✅ Played so many incredible local and national shows with my band @tulaveraofficial, and we are about to leave on our biggest tour yet next week 🥁
✅ Made the difficult decision to leave the dreams that weren’t mine, and the even more difficult decision to start again doing what is best for me

Por el apoyo de mi familia, mi dedicación, mi compasión y corazón, lo logré🎓💪

Reggaetón… but make it a polyrhythm??😈
Wrote this little exercise to take the iconic reggaetón groove out of only 4/4 and turn it on its head to get the limbs going and the brain working. Concentration was an all-time high here. Dancing to this one on expert mode.😩💃🏻

Welcome to my garage✨ Garage grooves are back baby💫🥁 Was thinking of some retro funk playing, a touch of drum machine, and a bit of Afrobeats when writing this one.

Fellow KICK DRUM lovers! I‘ve got a full drum play through on the way of a song that I use to exercise my double muscles in a rock geared style! SWIPE for a quick preview of the kick cam for slide technique.✨ My pedal, drum head, and bass drum info are below. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Thank you for always asking me about this! It’s gotta be my favorite drum topic. Keep the questions coming.❤️⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I use a @officialtamadrums Iron Cobra 900 Power Glide. This is an upgrade to an already kickass pedal (I formerly used the 600 and loved it, however it was getting old and I wanted to switch out). The pendulum mechanism is quite smooth, and minimal effort is exuded to perform at higher speeds. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
My kick is a 26 inch @ludwigdrumshq Accent Custom with @remopercussion Powerstroke P3 Clear heads. 💪🏼 Muted or unmuted (mine is currently unmuted), it’s a thunderous, round beast. Whether in the studio or at home, the Ludwig and Remo combination has yet to disappoint on this kit. ⁣⁣

I wrote a Latin-inspired independence exercise for ya! DM me for notation and try it out.☺️⁣
⁣
Also LOVE this @drumeoofficial shirt.🔥 It’s the only form-fitting, V neck drum shirt I’ve been able to purchase and I’m definitely hoping to find more.

Simple Bonham double warm up.✨⁣It’s the first thing I play each day with a gradual increase in speed to get moving. ⁣
