I think I found one of the most meditative ways to listen to the hidden sonic dimension around us.

I’m talking about the @somasynths SOMA ETHER. It’s a fascinating little instrument that lets you explore the invisible electromagnetic world and completely changes the way you experience a place.

Recently I collected sounds with it on the Stokksnes peninsula in Iceland, surrounded by black sand, mountains, and the ocean.

Now I’m planning to build a piece of music using only the sounds I captured there.

One big thank-you we still owe while telling the story of Losey goes to our very talented friend @kostyakondrukhov 🖤

Kostya shot the promo campaign for the album, and one of his photos eventually became the cover.

Important context: we did this shoot in Belgrade after several days of shows, parties, very little sleep and generally excellent decision-making. We were not exactly at our freshest. Sasha actually quit drinking after that trip, which probably tells you enough.

Somehow Kostya still managed to make us look like people you’d willingly put on an album cover.

A true professional.

Projekt Gnoomes sta pred kakšnimi desetimi leti v Rusiji ustanovila Saša in Maša Pjankov, po selitvi v Slovenijo pa se jima v odrski zasedbi redno pridružuje še bobnar Martin Kramberger iz zasedbe Moving as a Giant. Bendov samosvoj glasbeni slog, t.i. stargaze, prepleta elemente krautrocka, shoegazea, techna in psihedeličnega popa, kar pa s prihajajočo ploščo Losey razvijata v nekoliko drugačne vode. Če so njuni prejšnji albumi še zrli proti shoegaze obzorjem, je novi material precej bolj neposreden in surov in se zateka k acid EBM ritmom in dadaističnemu pop sanjarjenju, ki ga navdihujejo melodičnost in pesmopisje Paula McCartneyja. Kot pravita sama, gre za mešanico rave terapije, popa kot upora in ADHD produkcijskih tehnik.
