I had to put Aurora down last night. She really did have the best life. This year alone she went on tour and saw 20 states. She got kicked in the face chasing horses on a ranch in Tahoe, became the resident bar dog at @trickdogbar, and collected more love from strangers than most people do in a lifetime.

When she needed a new knee during Covid, you all stepped up and made it happen in under a day. I’ll never forget that.

The daily chaos she caused has officially come to an end, and now I get to experience things like a hairless apartment, a book that hasn’t been eaten, and a morning where I’m not woken up by a husky howl to the face.

Thank you to everyone who watched her when I was off being a maniac. You know who you are — and you probably still have husky hair in the back of your closet.
