8 July — our slot at the WordPress Meetup at SAE Vienna 🇦🇹

Government CMS in Europe is often a top-down story: a platform gets defined centrally and rolled out downwards. Martin Mucha’s talk laid that out — and ours came at the same problem from the other end.

Bottom-up. Councils were tired of rebuilding the same website every 5–7 years with a different vendor. So they built one shared open source codebase together. In the UK it now runs 70+ council sites and 80+ microsites — and nobody owns it.

Now it’s coming to Austria. Six agencies, one platform, launch Q4 2026. Drupal Austria is the umbrella. @acolono , @drunomics , @_lowfidelity_ , @activatemedianet , doloops and @webshapers_tulln

Best moment of the night came afterwards: a participant told us this is the only concept they see actually working. Exactly because it grows from the bottom up.

Open source doesn’t win because it’s better. It wins when we work together.

Open Source for everyone – we’re making it happen. 🌐

At Drupal Austria, we’re convinced: Drupal is one of the best digital solutions out there. But great tech needs to reach the right people.

So we launched our Marketing Initiative 🚀

AI, WordPress 7.0 & Governmental CMS — all in one evening in Vienna.

Drupal Austria is joining the next WordPress Meetup at SAE Vienna for an evening full of fresh insights from WordCamp Europe, the first AI features in WordPress 7.0, and the CMS landscape behind governmental websites in Europe.

With talks by Simon Kraft, Martin Mucha and Nico Grienauer, we’ll explore WordPress, TYPO3, Magnolia and the role of Drupal in the EU.

Mit den #splashawards zeichnen wir seit 2017 herausragende Digitalprojekte in Deutschland und Österreich aus, die auf Basis von #drupal entwickelt wurden. In insgesamt 10 Kategorien treten die Projekte gegeneinander an.

Unter den Gewinnern der letzten Jahre waren großartige Projekte unter anderem für @aupairworld , @fwuinstitut , @global2000.at @schwabe_group , @fachhochschulepotsdam und viele mehr!

Drupal Austria Spotlight Meetup - Thanks for an Inspiring Evening!
On May 12th we had our first „Spotlight Meetup“. These Meetups are intentionally non-technical and accessible to everyone.
