很多人劝我不要来怡保重新开始。他们说：“怡保很慢。”“没有吉隆坡那么多机会。”“一个专科医生，留在吉隆坡不是更好吗？”

但我的老板花了8位数，在怡保建立了一间专科医院。目的其实很简单—就是希望让骨科治疗，可以做得更专业、更精准。

我是Dr William，一位在吉隆坡从事骨科治疗15年的专科医生。小时候，别人放假去玩，我却常常待在爸爸的修车厂帮忙。
拿着扳手、学习换零件、学习修车。看着一辆原本发动不了的车，经过维修后重新启动。

我觉得很神奇。也因为这样，我开始喜欢上“维修”这件事。后来读医学院的时候，我发现人体其实和汽车很像。
骨骼是车架，关节是避震和轴承，肌肉是动力系统。
而骨科医生，就是负责维修人体结构的人。所以我选择了骨科。很多人觉得，医生是一份很风光的职业。但大家看不到的是，每一位医生背后，都经历过许多年的付出和牺牲。

尤其是骨科医生。别人下班回家，你可能还在手术室。别人放假旅行，你可能还在医院值班。很多年没有正常的生活，也错过了很多陪伴家人和朋友的时间。

有一段时间，我也问过自己：这一切，到底值不值得？直到我看到一位又一位病人。
他们来到诊所的时候，有人拄着拐杖，有人坐着轮椅，甚至有人痛到连几步路都走不了。
但经过治疗之后，当他们重新站起来，重新走路重新回到自己喜欢的生活。

那一刻，我终于明白自己坚持的原因。
原来我维修的，不只是骨头。而是一个人未来的生活。
我本身最专注的，是脊柱和尾龙骨治疗。
所以当我来到怡保，来到 Quill，我反而觉得这里是一个机会。一个能够更专注做好骨科治疗的机会。
因为这里愿意投入先进的医疗设备，把更精准的治疗带到北马。

现在，Quill 拥有先进的脊柱医疗技术，也是机器人脊柱手术中心，同时还是内窥镜脊柱手术培训中心。
对我来说，一个医生最重要的，不是待在哪一个城市。而是在哪里，能够真正帮助更多病人。

所以如果你问我：后不后悔来到怡保？
我的答案是：后悔。后悔没有更早来到这里。
