Busy preparing for October 2026!

Na alweer 3 edities in 2023, 2024 én sinds 2025 zelfs een Sustainable Fashion Art Festival 👉 FÆES-›!T ( @faees.it ) gaat het team van OVERLAP weer vieren dat het anders kan! Samen met lokale partners, creatieve broedplaatsen, kunstenaars, duurzame modeontwerpers en dito ondernemers in Enschede.

Houd @dsfw.enschede @over.lap.nl & @faees.it de komende tijd in de gaten voor updates in Enschede.

Following three editions in 2023 and 2024, and even a Sustainable Fashion Art Festival since 2025 👉 FÆES-›!T ( @faees.it ), the OVERLAP team is once again raring to go and show that things can be done differently! Together with local partners, creative hubs, artists, sustainable fashion designers, and sustainable entrepreneurs in Enschede.

Jaaaa, vanavond is het zover: de modeshow tijdens Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week! 👀🧡

Vanavond laten we 4 complete looks zien met Redikly items, gecombineerd met onze Reloved items. ✨ Zo zie je meteen hoe je onze unieke stukken kunt stylen tot een hele outfit.

📎 ATTACHED! Tot en met zondag kun je nog jouw favoriete kledingstuk of een item ophangen waar je enorm aan gehecht bent ook als je het niet meer draagt. We zijn ontzettend benieuwd naar je verhaal!

De ruimte is klaar voor een aantal toffe workshops!
We gaan zonder gewetensbezwaren ‘greenwashen’ en gave prints maken op bestaande items. Of kom samen borduren & weven met @huisvantuinen

Van 12:00-17:00 staat een professionele crew klaar!

@roos.mikx leert je textiel verven met natuurlijke materialen. Zij is verfster bij het Nederlands Dans Theater.

@dianacondoros leert je een eigen print ontwerpen die je daarna kunt zeefdrukken op een kledingstuk.

Voor € 7,50 kun je deze inloop-workshops volgen incl koffie/thee en iets lekkers ☕️🫖🍫

Jaaaa, Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week is begonnen! 👀🧡

Anouk van @_gingerandsage kwam gezellig langs voor een kleine voorstelronde en natuurlijk even kletsen over waar we deze week het meeste zin in hebben.

En voor mij is dat toch wel echt de modeshow van aanstaande donderdag 8 oktober! ✨
Dan loopt Redikly mee en ik heb er zóveel zin in om onze items daar op de catwalk te zien. 🪡🧡

I was invited to spend 3 months in Enschede, a city located in the Overijssel region of the Netherlands. I had just moved out of what I had called home for the past 3 years, a small town in Northern Italy, and quit a full-time job. The project I was going to begin was highly inspiring, bringing together my passions: art, textiles, and what I have always found deeply motivating — jumping into something completely new without expectations.
I was asked to question how garments can become a protection or second skin. The goal was to understand whether textiles and clothes today can carry hidden forms of communication, given the constant exposure we are subject to — both online and offline.

The idea of HIDE as a safe space immediately took shape in my mind as a form of liberation and self-expression, rather than defense or isolation. I imagined HIDE as a materialisation of our identity through objects that belong to us. A skin in which we feel safe because it carries our most comforting memories, and a safe space because, through its tactile properties, we can connect with our inner self. This second skin needed to establish an emotional connection with the user through personal experiences and memory.

Memory and emotion are extremely important to me as drivers for connection with physical matter. My experience with upcycling and altering garments originated in 2020, while I was studying fashion design in Milan and found myself spending a lot of time at home because of the pandemic. Being in close contact with a pile of textiles and clothes I had hoarded over the past 3 years was a wake-up call — moreover, I was going to move out soon and needed to detach myself from most of those items. Even keeping a small piece of fabric from each item was meaningful to me, as it allowed me to re-establish a connection with a tactile memory of a past time or place after I moved.

I took HIDE as an opportunity to understand how others engage with their own material collections and memories, and how I could embed these hidden meanings into a wearable artefact.
