I’m deeply saddened as I write this, trying to accept the reality that this great man is gone. Life is short indeed.

I met Mr Dimbo at a client’s office. Something within me said, “You need to meet this man.” So I introduced myself, and we exchanged contacts.

Shortly afterwards, while planning my first event in Jos, I had a lightbulb moment: I knew he had to be there. I reached out, and he warmly embraced the idea and committed to showing up.

On the day of the event, he drove all the way from Abuja. His vehicle even developed a fault along the way, but he continued. Unfortunately, with so much happening in the final hours before the event, I forgot to check in with him. He wasn’t pleased, and rightly so, but he expressed it with grace.

After that event, I visited his studio in Abuja twice. We spoke about many important ideas, the projects he was working on, and the collaborations we hoped to pursue together. How I wish those ideas had come to life. How I wish you had stayed with us much longer.

This stings deeply, but through all my reflections, I remain grateful.

Thank you for your generosity towards me, for your genuine heart, and for the passion you brought to your craft. I’m grateful that you spent your life sharing all you had to offer.

Thank you for being a light—and for helping others shine too.

Rest well, Mr Dimbo.
