Here are a few snapshots of Mr. Anand’s Honors Biology students engaged in their Macromolecule Capstone Laboratory: “Macromolecule Soup!” In this hands-on laboratory experience, students bring biology to life by exploring the four major classes of biological macromolecules—carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids—and their essential roles in living organisms.

Working collaboratively, students participate in the preparation of a soup that serves as a real-world model for investigating the biological macromolecules found in the foods we eat. Students then quantitatively determine the caloric content of their soup, applying scientific measurement, mathematical reasoning, and data analysis to connect biological concepts with the science of nutrition.

Through this engaging, inquiry-based experience, students move beyond memorizing biological concepts to actively applying their knowledge, analyzing evidence, and developing a deeper understanding of the relationship between food, energy, and life. By transforming the classroom into a laboratory of discovery, Mr. Anand’s students experience firsthand that the best way to learn science is to do science! by @dsoa_official

An unforgettable night for our AP Spanish Literature students! They got to see Alba at Palm Beach Dramaworks—a powerful, contemporary interpretation of Federico García Lorca’s La casa de Bernarda Alba, a masterpiece they just finished studying in class.

Huge thanks to Palm Beach Dramaworks for the generous invitation, Education Director Gary for the engaging pre-show discussion, and playwright Alejandro Rodriguez for speaking with our students after the performance! @pbdramaworks

We are so grateful to the Dreyfoos Foundation for making incredible learning opportunities like this possible. @dreyfoossoafi by @dsoa_official
