It’s a good feeling knowing something I created here in Louisiana has found its way into spaces across the country.

Grateful to have my botanical artwork featured in Starbucks locations in Jennings, Louisiana, Jasper, Indiana, and Palm Springs, California.

I never know how far my art will travel, but I appreciate every opportunity for it to be seen.

there’s something special about knowing that something I created has found a home somewhere I’ve never been.

my artwork was selected to be displayed inside a Starbucks storefront in Jasper, Indiana.

as an artist, you spend so much time creating without knowing where your work might end up or who it might reach. sometimes it travels farther than you ever imagined.

knowing that people can walk into a Starbucks, grab their morning coffee, and experience something I created is a reminder that art has a life beyond the artist.

grateful for the opportunity and proud to see my work become part of an everyday space.

Saint August Maison x Dustin Young

There’s something beautiful about creating art and then seeing it become part of someone else’s life.

I had the honor of having one of my pieces be part of a wedding ceremony at Saint August Maison. To know that something I created was present during a moment these people will remember for the rest of their lives means more than I can put into words.

Art has a way of becoming part of our stories. Sometimes it’s more than something hanging on a wall. It becomes part of a memory.

And I’m grateful to have played even a small part in theirs.

another magnolia, another piece of me.

created this one using Procreate. even when working digitally, i try to bring the same attention to detail, lines, colors, and composition that i bring to my paintings.

there’s something about the magnolia that keeps bringing me back. its beauty, its strength, and its connection to the South.

there’s something different about seeing art where people actually gather.

my work is hanging at Saint August Maison in Slidell, including this Fats Domino piece. Louisiana music, culture, color, and history all finding their way onto the canvas.

i want the work to live beyond a screen. see the texture. see the marks. stand in front of it for a minute.

studio uniform at this point 😂

some artists have paint clothes. apparently i have a Carhartt apron.

this thing has been with me through sketches, paint, mistakes, starting over, and those “one more thing” moments that turn into another two hours in the studio.

at this point, it’s becoming part of the process.

and Carhartt… if y’all happen to see this, just know I can always find room in the studio for another apron. 👀😂

people see the price of the art, but they don’t always see what the artist already paid.

the canvas. the paint. the brushes. the materials that didn’t work. the materials that did. the sketches underneath. the mistakes. the starting over.

and then there’s the one thing i can’t buy again:

time.

every hour i put into a piece is an hour of my life that isn’t granted back to me.

so when you support handmade art, you aren’t just paying for something to hang on a wall. you’re supporting the hands, the thought, the materials, the failures, the experience—and the time it took to make something that didn’t exist before.

sometimes people can’t pay the price. i understand that.

but understand this too: the creative already paid a price to create it.

Support handmade art. Support living artists.

Saint August Maison x Dustin Young

Still at the beginning.

Just pencil lines right now. Two birds. A mess of reeds. An idea slowly becoming something I can put my hands on.

And that part matters to me.

In a world where almost anything can be generated in seconds, I think handmade art matters more, not less. There’s something about knowing somebody actually stood in front of a canvas, made choices, messed up, changed their mind, covered something up and kept going.

AI can generate an image.

But it can’t replace the human hand that made the mark. It can’t replace the hours, the mistakes, the fingerprints, or the life behind the work.

Support handmade art. Support living artists. Keep human creativity human.

how often do you get to see a harp up close, let alone hear one being played right next to your own artwork?

one of those moments at the Comfort Exhibition where art met art. the sound of the harp, the paintings on the walls, and people coming together to experience something beyond the everyday.

i had to get a picture with the harpist. 😂 @harpbug

sometimes art isn’t just what we see. it’s what we hear, what we feel, and what we carry home with us.
