The past couple of months have been life changing. Shoot.. the past year has.

I was depressed, I hated my job.. I didn’t know which direction to go. I got laid off in September and let’s be honest everyone is going through layoffs and it’s hard. But it was the best thing that could have happened. You have to stay positive in life or it will bite you in the ass. I applied to jobs I was overqualified for, jobs I’d hate, and all the while I had this amazing support system that kept encouraging me to do it on my own.

Photography has always been my hobby and I was lucky enough to turn it into a career. But that wasn’t all, I learned how to develop and design websites. I learned how to film and edit promotional videos for huge corporations to small non-profits. I kept going.. kept pushing.

I’m now the proud owner of Threadgill Productions which sole purpose is to help companies, large or small tell their stories. I wouldn’t have gotten here without your encouragement.

I took this camping trip alone because I initially just wanted to enjoy the fall colors with my pups. But it turned into a lot more. I experienced the Beaver Super Moon during a meteor shower.. as everyone knows I love all things outdoors but wow.. that was surreal.

It has been a long year for myself and I know a lot of us. I just wanted to say thank you for all your support, I would not be the person I am today without it. 💙

Yesterday I gave myself permission to just be, and the universe put on a show✨ Long walks, farmers market hauls, breakfast on the porch, an incredible yoga class with @the.best.steph at Sundara 🧘‍♀️, Mexican food with my yoga fam🌮, gardening (found 3 new plants 🌱), got blessed with an unexpected large pay day from a client, created 3 geocaching boxes to hide in the park, curled up with a good book, rescued a stray kitten, and laid in the park watching the full moon rise over the trees. 🌕

I’m sharing this because mental health matters deeply to me right now. My mom is my best friend… and lately it’s been hard. Really hard. She’s been struggling, and watching someone you love that much go through something like that is one of the heaviest things to carry. If you know her and you’ve been meaning to reach out, please do. Invite her to lunch, to paint, to sit on a porch. It would mean the world to both of us. 🤍

But here’s the bigger message: this day was a reminder that you have to take care of yourself too. You can’t pour from an empty cup - and the people who need you most deserve you at your fullest. So take the walk. Book the yoga class. Cook yourself the good breakfast. Go watch the moon.

Do it for you. So you can show up for them. 🌿
