100 WOMEN. ONE STATEMENT.
To close out Women’s Empowerment Month, I had the opportunity to shoot women across Morgan State University campus for 100 Women in Heels — a visual centered on confidence, professionalism, and self-expression.
Dressed in business and professional attire, each woman showed up with her own presence and style, contributing to a collective moment that felt both powerful and grounded.
This shoot was about capturing that energy in a simple, intentional way—captured by women, for women.

This shoot is a 90s yearbook-inspired series celebrating Black culture through style, presence, and individuality. Rooted in the visual language of the era - durags, chains, and oversized silhouettes - each portrait captures the iconic energy that defined a generation.
Rather than recreating the past, this series reimagines it, framing each subject as part of a modern-day Black History Month yearbook.
Centered on personality and self-expression, these images document how we show up - boldly, effortlessly, and on our own terms.

The Rooms That Raised Us — A D.T. Laurent Project 📸

This Black History Month Project is a visual exploration of the multitude of memories that exist within the walls of our homes. These rooms are nostalgic for the variety of experiences we have lived — from getting our hair braided for the first time before ever stepping into a salon, to watching a film that would later become our favorite childhood movie, to older sisters teaching us about beauty.

These rooms are not just physical environments, but emotional and cultural classrooms — places where we learned how to speak, how to care, how to love, how to see ourselves, and how to survive the world outside. In these rooms, we have navigated insecurities, conflicts, misunderstandings, victories, revelations, and a multitude of emotions that quietly shaped who we are.
