Two years ago, I had the opportunity to step briefly into the world of Avatar, thanks to @garrettxwarren and @codystratford . Getting to observe and work up close was a genuine childhood full-circle moment. Watching James Cameron work was a masterclass in intention and trust. Rather than dictating performance, he sets the emotional stakes of a moment and then gives the actors the space to fully inhabit it in their own way. He directs from the inside out. I remember him coming up to us at one point and telling us to focus specifically on Zoe’s face, her expression, because that’s where the emotional truth of the moment lived. At the same time, the actors were going deep into how their bodies carried the performance: posture, weight, micro-movement. Everything was intentional. Seeing the volume in action and witnessing the VFX process up close was equally eye-opening. It gave me a deeper appreciation for how much craft and discipline goes into every frame. After finally seeing the film on screen, I’m still blown away by the scale and beauty of what was created. Grateful to have witnessed even a small part of the process. FULL HOUSE last night for art house action This is our second event and I still can’t believe we pulled it off with over 200 RSVPs and lines around the corner. The @code1010productions team @nickmeesestunts @karlgunnaranderson worked night and day for the last month to make this happen and I couldn’t be more proud. “Cheat Code” Code 10-10 productions winning submission to the Stunt Design Showdown @87northaction.
