For each of us this cheer team mean so much to us. For those of you on the fence about trying out, here are words from some of our athletes about why we choose to be a DU cheerleader everyday.

DU cheer holds such a special place in my heart. We have built a true sisterhood among our team, being together feels like family. Between the championships, post game meals, and difficult practices, I wouldn’t change anything for the world. I love these girls, I couldn’t ask for a more amazing program to be a part of.

I love DU Cheer because of all of the people it has brought me and the memories I have made. From finding my roommate on the team to traveling every year with hockey I wouldn’t trade the world. Being able to build such a beautiful community of young women is something I admire every day

Hey ya’ll my name is Lexi and when I came to DU as a freshman I chose to join the DU cheer team because I wanted to have structure and support. I saw online how involved the team is in the community with our various charity projects such as the Colorado toy drive and how they participate in events such as basketball games, hockey games and homecoming. For me joining was a no brainer and honestly this was the best choice that I made for myself, I’ve been surrounded by successful and supportive women who push me to be the best version of myself! If you’re thinking about joining just try it! Try new things, push yourself outdoors your comfort zone and I promise my team will hold up the end of the bargain and become a support system that will be there for you! Go Pios!

I love DU Cheer because it’s honestly just such a fun group to be around. I’ve met some of my closest friends through the team, and I love getting to go to games, practices, and events with them. It gives me something to look forward to during the week and makes being involved at DU so much more fun. I also just love that I get to keep doing cheer while still having a normal college experience!

Du cheer means the world to me. Being a cheerleader in college was always my dream, and this team made it come true. Not only do I get to practice and become a better athlete, but this team has given me some of my best taken in University of Denver by @du_cheerleading
